Is it a good idea to have water that looks better than the land? :)

You also need morties and an arm jammer that was captured with commandos.

Mostly it is that they don't fit together!

BTW there are a few things that could be better like in this B&W 2 water screenshot - http://www.deafgamers.com/05screenshots_b/bw2pic5.jpg

I notice that the water suddenly ends at the end of the map, is it possible to have the other water formats to end at the end of the map for more efficiency rather then going forever eating comp power, and if even better make the new water format go on forever too, if only asked for.

Mostly it is that they don't fit together! /quote] Ya, thats what I was talking about. That water is way more realistic than the land we have now, making it sort of lame then you look at sea and land at once...

Will adding a gentle effect of waves near the shores make the game much slower?

Will it make it look appreciably better for the performance cost?

Eh... No.

Eh... No.
But it would be good for making trailers on Spring and mods/games. Eye candy has influence!

Those waves wont cost a crap of performance.... if you know how to make them right...

+ more gfx options is never bad.

btw for all those mappers who already experiment with it, I will rename WaterSpecularFactor to WaterSpecularPower, it is much more consistent with FresnelPower.

And there will be some new tags (you can modify the look of the water extremely with those):
WaterAmbientFactor (=1.0)
WaterDiffuseFactor (=1.0)
WaterSpecularFactor (=1.0)

It would depend on the graphics card.

Apparently you can turn the reflection and refraction on this on and off, which are their normal performance cost, and the rest has no significant fps hit.
