The actual geometry of the tank is matched up with the original for length and width exactly, with exception to the track enclosure part.

The render is using 10% bump mapping from the base texture though, gonna bake that in once its all done.

The whole granite block area is still WIP hehe, I'm definitely not going to leave it as a big ol chunk like that, still working on a scene that will look halfways decent on that area.

The reason it doesn't look as long is because it is much taller. and since we look at it at an angle rather than top down it looks different as a result.

But eitherway does it really matter? Its still a vast improvement over the original.

I would have to agree that the track covers being halfed instead of running the whole top of the tracks does make it look stumpier..

Its the only way I could think of to leave enough visible track to make the animated tracks justified though..

maybe I need a different strategy :D

you could make it thinner and closer to the center.

Actually I agree with the red glowy stuff looking like checkers/wallpaper, I only found it silly to comment on the unfinished parts just yet. :P

I know the pic isn't the greatest quality, but this was the kind of tank that always sticks in my mind, saw Nausicaa when I was 12 so it just hangs in there :D

I just have a thing for exposed tracks being ok.. lol

OK, well short of a few tweaks small edits left, the texture is mostly done.

I was playing around with the track skirt parts though, and wanted to know which you guys prefer, half skirt, or full skirt.

It's tough, but I'm going to go with the full skirt, because it looks heavier.

No! go with the half skirt, or all that work on the tracks are in vain, and it looks much more interesting.

I'm for half as well, more visually interesting. Either way, it's an incredibly well done job.

I think half could be used as another version or maybe a variant somewhere....

You cold just have the game randomize between them automatically when the unit is built, so that some with have full skirts, and some half

Full - it makes no sense to leave a part exposed, because if it gets damaged, the whole track is useless (I mean irl, but lets keep things real when we can).

Tracks should be visible to justify the effort, screw realism.
