dont just provide real guns, provide fantasy guns aswell, like the portal gun, or the gravity gun, or my favorite the rail gun
Re: whats your favorite gun?
Maybe you don't get it. The GAU-8 Avenger will rape anything. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDjxnX5On20
Re: whats your favorite gun?
Fallout 2 is way more realistic than youtube.
Anyway if we're talking about real-life weapons I think this one is pretty cool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nY6nm-6e ... re=related Sort of similar to the one on the A-10 but computer-driven and on a turret. It's designed for shooting down incoming missiles or aircraft, and can keep track of and prioritize over 100 targets at a time. At 500 meters it has a 100% kill rate for incoming missiles, and it has a maximum "sorta-accurate" range of something like 4 km.
This "goalkeeper" type isn't as widely used as the one the American navy uses for point defense since it costs twice as much and isn't as easy to deploy (it must be built into the hull rather than just bolted down on top) but it's more powerful and has better tracking hardware. The whole magazine is belowdecks so it effectively has unlimited ammunition, unlike the one loaded on the A-10. The Americans are probably nervous to try something so automated after all the fun they've had with the PATRIOT missile system, which started off either useless or sorta-not-useless depending on who you ask, and more recently managed to shoot down two friendly aircraft.
Edit, here's the American system, it's got a familiar name for many of us: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgpQBZF2 ... re=related

Re: whats your favorite gun?
The Kriss is pretty damn cool. Uses a combination of lowering the barrel in relation to the hand grip, and a recoil redirection to effectively eliminate muzzle climb, making it probably the most destructive generally useful SMG ever.
My old favorite is the HK416. Uses normal nato 5.56 ammunition, the same stuff the standard issue M16 uses, but has significantly improved RoF, accuracy, modularity, and best of all, it's virtually impossible to jam or destroy.
You'd have to be insane to not love the Barret .50 cal sniper rifle. A gun known to have 2 mile confirmed kill shots.
AA-12 one of the most entertaining guns to watch shoot ever.

It's more of an anti-materiel rifle though. You'd have to be insane to not love the Barret .50 cal sniper rifle. A gun known to have 2 mile confirmed kill shots.
Well who doesn't like .50 cal weapons...
Re: whats your favorite gun?
I don't have a favourite gun because I'm not a psychopath who fetishises things that kill people.

Yes guns were invented to cure cancer and to be used in philosophy as tools
Re: whats your favorite gun?
i was talking about lazer tag. where you have your gun with a lazer attached to it and you shot others players to get points, and when you shot them you dont kill the you disable them for short time. if they did kill thered be alot less people in the world today.

Re: whats your favorite gun?
The thing is... even though a .50 cal sniper round is more expensive than any other single battlefield small arms round... Most other guns will shoot alot more times and have to be alot closer to do the same damage.rattle wrote:It's more of an anti-materiel rifle though. You'd have to be insane to not love the Barret .50 cal sniper rifle. So ya, while it's a gun that is primarily designed for anti material, really, that only makes it a more effective all around system, since it just means that while you can do nearly everything every other sniper rifle can, you can also blow up vehicals.
Every sniper system is significantly less expensive than nearly every other battle system in damage done vs initial investment. The only real qualitative downside is the gun and ammo is so big you can't carry it around the way a lighter sniper system might be able to.
Re: whats your favorite gun?

What, a finnish made copy of the venerable AK-47? Well it does have superior build quality to most of them, but still, at the end of the day it is an AK-47. Made to last, not to fire accurately.Sleksa wrote:

... RK 62 is almost universally liked for its accuracy and reliability, despite retaining the 7.62x39mm cartridge which is generally considered obsolete. The IDF developed the Galil assault rifle on basis of RK 62
The RK 62, along with its improved model, RK 95 TP, are considered to be the best AK-47 variants in the world by many experts, due to the superior quality of materials and workmanship
... After basic training, some 30% of Finnish conscripts can score 93 or more points with ten rounds at 150 m distance with target shooting on RK 62, the bullseye (10 points) diameter being 100 mm

Re: whats your favorite gun?
It's still an AK variant, and fundamentally, even if it's still more accurate, doesn't address the plethora of other problems with the AK design. outdated/slow munitions, awkward rechambering and unidexterous design, very high recoil, poor balance/ergonomics, and very long profile(which makes it suck for CQC).
I mean realistically, the AK is a very good assault rifle, and therefore the "best" AK is a very very good assault rifle. But there are just too many problems with the AK for me to consider it the best assault rifle ever made. Especially in comparison to many of the new AR systems like the HK416 and OICW, and I can't even speak for the many bullpup systems which stormed the market, I haven't done any research on them aside from using the AUG in CS.
