As for low spec spring. I think it be possible to write a groupAI or GlobalAI dll that showed statistics from the game and sent them over the net to possibly be shown in some client that didnt go fullscreen and maybe with a 2d interface or a simple 3d interface that didnt take too much speed to run, maybe icons instead of units and greyscale terrain with no shadows, or just a top down view with symbols. It could possibly be further developed to actually eb acpable of giving commands however I find that would take a lot more work and may not be worth the effort. The first part of the suggestion however may be a good feature for in the lobby, say just to see how a game thats started is going on...
