[LCC]Lion_heart / [PiRO]G01D Possible Ghosting?

Post by pewpewJLZ »

[PiRO]G01D, aka 'diamond' has been away from the game for a while. he came back tonight and proceeded to win ladder game after ladder game against some of the top players. i noticed lionheart was spectating virtually every game and was unusally making very little spectator chat.

i decided to take a look at the replays for any possible signs of colluding:

this one game (http://w14.easy-share.com/1698176921.html) arose my suspicions. on a game of comet catcher, G01D appeared to be losing to an unorthodox tactic of com walking up the map. the enemy commander is extremely vulnerable but well out of the way of any radar line of sight. however, if you highlight both G01D's jeffys and flashes, (around about minute 7), holding down shift, you notice that the flash are told to move, for seemingly NO reason straight to the commander.

they are immediately redirected to a more expected position and a jeffy is sent there instead. he quickly scouts out the commander and the flash then are sent in for a quick win.

i notice that the replay seems to lag at that all important moment, but i still have my suspicions. earlier today, when g01d was on the warpath, lion told me he now is unable to host, but i see this very minute he is hosting now that g01d is nowhere to be seen.

i have been told that lion has been caught playing on g01d's account before, and using spec hax to his advantage but i have no evidence of this.

i'm sure whoever it was playing has a high skill level, as there were indeed a few games where lion and gold weren't together. but he didn't seem to make the same lucky/faultless decisions without the other one there.

i'm not here to make enemies, i am genuinely interested in the community's opinion and whether perhaps it's just easier to accuse when a good player is playing at the top of their game?

Not talking while spec isn't necessarily out of character for lion... that being said, it's the only thing I can confirm. Lion wouldn't be my first suspicion if I suspected someone of ghosting for gold, but I don't really know all that well.

[22:48:01] * Message from server: [PiRO]GO1D's last IP was 70.134.127.XXX
[22:48:16] * Message from server: [LCC]Lion_heart[Ck]'s IP is 70.134.121.XXX

Unless Lion is using two separate internet connections to ghost (unlikely), this is not true.

Lion's got the programming abilities of a beer keg; he couldn't "hax" his way out of a paper bag.

lion and g01d are real life cousins

teamspeak? skype? anything...

anyway i expected this kind of response. it would take very solid evidence for anyone to publicly outcast a respected member of the community. talking to a few of you privately last night, there were certainly enough people with their suspicions... it's a shame they're unlikely to be brought up here, if nothing more than for the purpose of discussion.

like i said in my original post, i wasn't here to make enemies so i hope you can see why it can be a good thing within a community to get these debates going

why is playing without specs stupid? If you think someone is ghosting but cant directly prove it what else are you gonna do.

Also there isnt much you can do about people ghosting, unless the game the spectators watch is like delayed for 90 seconds (like in CSS,TF2 etc).

PS. Yeah why is lion a mod, i should be a mod!

Lion is a moderator because a significant number of moderators at the time he was considered decided he was up for the job.

I'm not saying anybody is ghosting, but saying someone would be unable to because they can't hax is completely stupid.

I played this game against [piro]Gold. I don't think my position was told to him before, it's just pure luck as there should be sometimes.

Scouting increases chance to find something interesting and that normal behaviour.

However, even if my com wasn't stabbed, my tactic of "one after one flash microing" to limit his expansion should have changed into "mass flash standard tactic" at 5mn game.

One my firsts 1v1, I'll do better next time.

+1... Spectating and talking on teamspeak/whatever hardly takes skills. I haven't checked out the replay yet, but I will in a bit. I'm curious how obvious it is when the flashes change directions and head towards the commander. Edit: The replay says it needs ba_installer_version.. I have ba60.sdz.. Not sure whats wrong.
