It's not like it would be hard to miss...

Awesome, I am glad everyone don't has that :)SpikedHelmet wrote:Dude, all it would take would be for one A-26 to swoop in, fire 20 rockets at it, drop a few 50kg or 100kg bombs on it, and then pepper the fleeing crew with 8-12 .50cal machineguns, and it's toast. It'd be like a Krogoth, except killable by a single bomber.

Alright, I've finished UVmapping the Tiger, and have started on its skin, howwwwever, my internet has gone kaplooie so I'm unable to actually finish it until that's fixed with. For now I've started all I can do without having photo reference for details.
So Flozi, don't map the Tiger!
I'm hoping this'll be my best skin yet. :)

Re: S:44 Dump
that mega tank is awesome, its a pity that the longistics of keeping it running would've taken up 30k men alone only for it to break down or die to a single aircraft. hitler was a porcing superweapon noob.

Re: S:44 Dump
The concept of it is questionable -- it's essentially a naval vessel given tracks. I can understand what might make someone think that having a battleship roaming the French countryside might be powerful, but given that Germany couldn't even deploy actual naval vessels makes this idea idiotic. However, if you can field such a behemoth on a battlefield with the right conditions, namely, the enemy does not control the skies (a single bomb could knock this thing out, or damage it to the point it may take weeks to repair, and unlike a ship, if this guy's engines are shot it ain't goin' anywhere; no amount of paddling is going to change that) then theoretically it would be useful. However, a walking mech would be much more viable; this thing will not be able to go in many places, and it will be slow as balls given its tracked nature. I'd love to see how it crosses any decent-sized river without sinking meters into the muddy riverbed.

There was some youtube video about the battle between the nazi megamech and the american megamech.
Re: S:44 Dump
The only (viable) way to use naval guns for ground combat was to mount them on railway wagons. Example: Soviet TM-1-180 - a 180mm gun originally intended for cruiser which was never completed, mounted on a platform with full traverse.SpikedHelmet wrote:The concept of it is questionable -- it's essentially a naval vessel given tracks.
Another way would be to mount the guns in static turrets, but that would be strictly defencive. Example - 35th Coastal Battery at Sevastopol, armed with 12inch battleship guns (destroyed by Germans in 1942, but not before inflicting great casualties to them).

Lol...
Anyway, sorry for the delay, but here's my latest mapped/skinned unit (beautiful model by Flozi):

Isn't MG34 7.92 mm? The text on screenshoot seems to say 7.62... Otherwise excellent

I don't think the german army wouldn't let it be escorted with out some Air supportSpikedHelmet wrote:Dude, all it would take would be for one A-26 to swoop in, fire 20 rockets at it, drop a few 50kg or 100kg bombs on it, and then pepper the fleeing crew with 8-12 .50cal machineguns, and it's toast. I don't think Air support ever prevented a target from getting bombed once a real force was in the air with that intent. If one bomber could take it, I'm quite sure one would get through any feasible support wing.Abokasee wrote:I don't think the german army wouldn't let it be escorted with out some Air supportSpikedHelmet wrote:Dude, all it would take would be for one A-26 to swoop in, fire 20 rockets at it, drop a few 50kg or 100kg bombs on it, and then pepper the fleeing crew with 8-12 .50cal machineguns, and it's toast. Bombers be damned, you could probably take that thing out with artillery (it's not like it would be hard to miss...)
Plus that thing's gonna be useless in a city environment...

Re: S:44 Dump
Artillery, you say...
http://www.panzerschreck.de/panzer/pzkpfw/p1500.html
That needs to go in too, in that case
.
Also, it would just run the city over. as long as you've got a fleet of tractors to pull it out of the rubble
We need a "mad science" variant of S44.
