Really? I'd love to see you play a good player 1on1 and go air first, I think it'd be fascinating.
hes beat me and day before doing it, also lost though

Off course there are no Good players! The first move you make, if your ally thinks you are noob he'll just come at you, reclaim | capture | self D, end the match and ban you!

Let them grow long ban lists

I have never played in a game like this.

In every game that I have played, we usually did anywhere from 1v1 to 4v4 on one of my mods, to 4v4 to 6v6 in BA and CA.

Every single game was just for fun, and we all had a great time, it helped me get my skill up to [>newb] and helped them all around by having a fun game.

One reason I could see these situations happening.

DON'T CHAT ABOUT HOW YOU'RE NEW.

DON'T DENY BEING A SMURF.

DON'T ASK ABOUT PLAYING AGAINST AI.

DON'T ASK SOMEONE TO HOST SPEEDMETAL WITH ANY OF THE *A MODS.

If you follow these few tips, players will most likely leave you alone.

Like KDR said - everybody likes winning. It's why they're playing a multiplayer game.

However, not everyone (indeed, very very far from everyone) wants to have to work at it and develop a high level of skill. This is true in any community. Even StarCraft - do you really think the average player wants to put in hours of -practice-? No. they want to play their game against a similar or weaker opponent and win, without having to train for hours and hours and hours. The difference is in the amount of people. If we say that roughly 3% (or any other small %) of a community will be composed of people who are serious about getting good at the game, this starts to make sense.

The key to making spring a better place for competitive games is just GETTING MORE PLAYERS. Period. Yes, as you attract 500 new people, the HUGE majority will be more DSD 6v6 teamplayers - its low stress, low effort, and they even get to feel like they accomplished something when they win. HOWEVER, when you pull in 500 new players, you WILL get some people who decide that 1v1 is way more fun and take it seriously. So even if there's still a huge difference in the numbers of players at each level, you will get more competitive people.

Of course, as a community stops growing, stagnates, and eventually starts shrinking you begin to see a higher and higher percentage of competitive players, since they're generally the ones who stick around the longest (they've invested the most time into learning how to be very good at the game, so their mind won't let them simply ditch all that invested time by leaving quickly).

TL;DR - get more players period, and you'll get more competitive players. But there will ALWAYS be more 6v6 DSD'ers than hardcore 1v1 Comet'ers, at least until the few months before spring is totally dead.

my logic is:

IF big game with stars exists
I join n play
ELSE
join 1v1.

I enjoy big games more as there i can pwn whole team of people... in 1v1 i only pwn one
