you don't have your problem with the "official" lobby ?clumsy_culhane wrote:yea i have same problem, i load TASclient up, then after about 5-10 seconds (it has logged into the server by this stage) it uses loads of cpu, so much i cant do anything, for around 1- 2 mins. After this its fine.. its just annoying to have your computer freeze up for 2 mins evrytime you open tasclient....

Now i downloaded that newest, it had that button, thanks :)
But, could you put that battle screen button there where it was, im used to click it just once, now i need to click twice + move mouse/aim the correct selection, its kinda frustrating.
Or even better: put battle screen into a separate window (so i can click it from my taskbar), ive always wanted that

There already is an option for that, and it is in the TASClient included in the installer too, and has been for a few Spring versions.TradeMark wrote:Now i downloaded that newest, it had that button, thanks :)

Since I seem to recall me complaining about the interface and people saying they didn't find anything wrong with it, here's what's wrong with it:

Yes I don't know how to use thumbnails.
Edit: also, look at screenshot 1 & 2, notice that the "link colour" isn't consistent (nor choosable, which is a pity too). I'm going to guess battle chat has the same issue as main chat with the colours... TASClient doesn't maximize to full screen on high resolutions, another problem. Nor does it detect the taskbar properly if the taskbar is placed on the top, and in some cases you end up getting TASClient's titlebar behind the taskbar, not very good.
And that's just the worst of the issues...
Only way TASClient looks remotely nice is if you use the default Windows XP theme, and I'm going to guess a whole lot of people don't.
Edit 2: Small correction, tabs do respect windows colours, the 3D Objects colour. Toolbar respects Window text colour, and so does all other buttons. So really all other buttons except the tab bar and tabs elsewhere are broken.

If you know anybody else who has managed to build TASClient please go ahead and add their name to the list. It's not quite the same as a php project or spring itself.
IIRC altaric tried to add in a font chooser setup and failed miserably, kept saying that delphi was making the fonts looked horrific.
didn't i ask you to not post again here ?AF wrote:Satirik, betalord, altaric, iamacup, zenka.Satirik wrote:it's open source just go ahead :) anyway i planned to add a form to choose text colorsZellSF wrote: ...

Well. I don't know how to code in delphi, or anything for that matter, so no. I just posted because I've heard people claim there were no interface issues in TASClient, which imo, you'd have to be a bit insane to claim.Satirik wrote:it's open source just go ahead :) anyway i planned to add a form to choose text colors, and i'll try to fix some of these problemsZellSF wrote: ...
It would be great if you could make them be right though.
there is no problem when you are not a fashion victim spending your time (actually losing your time) by skinning windows and all the stuff you can :)
but most of theses graphical issues can be fixed, i'll add a vista dectect to disable the title bar like for wine (you can disable them manually by adding -wine to tasclient.exe), and i found a solution to fix the font problem of vista (making some component going out of the forms), the rest is a matter of colors pictures and choice
edit : and i didn't know anything about delphi before updating this lobby ... so that's not an excuse :)
