Crash, 75b2+svn4623

Post by Linebacker »

Old post deleted. Updated to 4623.

---------------

Looks like your not supposed to press "reload map list" in the new svn4623. I can produce recurring errors. Pressing the button results in the following error which disables the functioning of the client, since you can't just host a new battle, but have to restart to get it to work:

Was there something that you did before the lobby crashed?

No, not that I know of.
One LAN player was running low on free space on his C: drive though...

In svn's of 75b2 has it changed that the stacktrace is not written into the infolog.txt anymore, which renders the file quite useless?

infolog.txt gets written to when your game crashes, the lobby is something completely different.

My point was rather the missing stacktraces in the infolog.txt in the svn4571. The problem with crashreports (and atm Spring bails out a lot on LAN for us) is, that we don't get stacktraces in the infologs for our recent crashes. And we also get "fatal error" windows, which indicate that the client crashed - but yet, it still lives. Maybe it's not functioning properly, but we can't make that out immediately...

Bit confusing atm. :|

I haven't tested replays yet, a friend of mine and I are just going crazy on LAN games vs. AIs atm. I have updated the first posting in this thread to the new SVN 4623 and crashreports there.

HTH.

AAI and KAIK both don't build anything more than 2 wind, 2 mex and a factory, then they stop. Tested on two maps, numerous times. AAI plays very weak though, weaker than normal.

And despite setting the metal and energy start amount to 1000, we start with 40 and thus have to build storages first...

Sort of, though you may need to hex edit them a bit to make them play longer then 0 seconds.

Hopefully I can find some time to look at that this weekend.

AAI won't EVER build winds, it doesn't use them. Perhaps you meant solars?

I used KAIK and AAI while testing the svn's. Maybe there were 2 KAIK's and one AAI, so I just saw a few winds and assumed they all did the same. The point is: they stopped building and playing.

Ok we resorted to the 75b2 version as it is on the spring website, since we can't use AIs for our LAN games with svn's. Here's the most recent error, can someone tell where it comes from?

Ok, this maybe helpful, but I can't read it. I am not a programmer, just a one of the players. Please don't incorporate me too much into the details. :P

Run your stacktrace through it before posting, it
makes it easier for the devs to find your problem.

(number of players) > (number of devs)

P.S. [stacktrace] ... [/stacktrace] would be a nice phpBB feature ;-)
