I took a good look at the source files of the new islands in war map today and it struck me again how much quality output is being generated and not that rarely released under a genuine open source license.. it's just amazing.
I mean there aren't many clear reasons to make content for this engine/project/community, it pays nothing (actually - costs money), a lot is taken for granted, some people even take a piss at you, the community is small, the engine lacks in major parts, documentation is out of date if someone actually decided to write it down, nothing is structured (ok, we decided to stick to one lead dev and not to break svn - but that's about it), the website has seen only a few updates in all these years (not that any of your work would actually be pimped on it), and then it's requested that you more or less give up your rights as it's the "open source" thing to do.
Still there are quite a few people that stick around and really spend loads of time to really produce very impressive stuff.
I mean.. makes me feel good to be a part of it.
(Now don't expect this will change any time soon or something, I mean I'm working at the site but the rest will most likely stay like it is.

Anyway, thanks for the many hard working hours, I appreciate it!
