Yeah, it's been throwing away my uvmaps too, when I tell it to import the coordinates. I usually end up just re-splitting the merged model and importing each piece.

I have that problem too. I use Upspring 1.3 for UVMap importing (that old version seems to import them just fine), then the model can be saved and edited in the new Upspring.

this is off topic but on upspring what kind of files do u use to load it into upspring i tryed object what file is it?

for unit mashes, either use 3ds, obj, 3do and s3o of course. for textures I think only tga and dds (dtx3 and 5) are accepted.

Because I do my uv mapping after I've modelled it, with a different program entirely.

Hi... what about Upspring build in 'unsmooth' button on poly multiple selection mode.... :-)

UpSpring flips my models on the x axis !!!!

It's only flipped in upspring, it will be fine ingame. Or, I'm pretty sure it will be.

My experience is that the model is flipped in game, too. Even more, it's flipped for units but not for features. I have some asymmetric buildings and when they die, it's clearly visible that corpse models are mirrored compared to unit models.
All of that was with 3DO models, though. Haven't tested s3o much.

I made upspring flip s3o because it is flipped in game, according to some..

One little minor issue- the window seems to be hardcoded to start at 1280x1024 every session, which is irritating when one is operating at a different resolution.

There is a save view settings item somewhere in the menu, this includes window position/dimensions

Damn you little blinky thing!

No, they are not fixed ingame, UpSpring does mess em up, so as a final gift, I must remember to flip it on the x-axis or i will waste 10-30+ minutes setting origins, etc. up...

I'm pretty sure this is not the case, I've done at least one asymmetrical unit and it was fine ingame

It now keeps the orientation between Upspring and Spring but it doesn't keep the orientation between Blender and Upspring. So I get a mirrored model and have to hope that I manage to mirror it back.

Perhaps it is an OBJ vs 3ds issue? Spiked uses OBJ and everything is mirrored.
