Myself included. All the whizbang of IE7 irritates me, and while I have firefox, it isn't my default browser for a variety of reasons.

Whiiiiiiine. ;)

Running IE6 is a terrible idea, and I'd rather UF displayed everything upside down and back to front save for a set of links to IE7/FF/Opera.

That and those who arent forced to use IE6 have no excuse anyway as IE7 was rolled out as a critical patch via windows update months ago.

I use IE, I don't care how high he feels he is over me.

Code: Select all

SnipaWolf's resistance to attack type "Ridicule" has increased by 95%!

grumpy_Bastard's attack rendered ineffective!

[09:36:33 PM] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> ive writen some ajax
[09:36:36 PM] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> to tab the download page
[09:36:47 PM] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> so like i need tabs to go accross the top of the file description
Suffice to say this doesnt meant dropping IE6, this means a slew of other clients would end up loosing support. I put forward that these tabs are unnecesary redundant bloat, and bad web design.

[21:44:38] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> no
[21:44:40] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> ajax is better
[21:44:44] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> and
[21:44:59] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> ive got a theme that has so many png transparent images
[21:44:59] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> its unreal
[21:45:00] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> and
[21:45:02] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> that means
[21:45:03] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> LOTS OF BLUE
[21:45:06] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> in ie6
[21:45:15] <[LCC]IaMaCuP> so basically if you can live with that then fine :p

it WILL work

it will just look VERY gay

the reason its unsupported is the PNG none transparent stupidity of ie 6

IM NOT DROPPING IE SUPPORT

just ie 6 or less.

i again stress it will still work.

Smoth, ranting because your too sensitive to listen to someone opinion, who say they beleive most n00bs use IE, really makes you no better than me. You use firefox, I suppose that explains it, an extreme case of Elitism? I thought I was an asshole and could get worked up over nothing... It seems I have been de-throned.

Not only taking in consideration what Imacup has stated as far as browser usage, here are the numbers off the wolfgame servers.

112,000 - Mozilla-compatible (Firefox)
61,000 - MSIE (ALL VERSIONS)
15,837 - Opera
4,145 - Netscape
7875 - Others (Lynx, Konqueror, etc)

139,857 hits
43% of which are from IE.

Now, also taking into consideration that computers running IE have come with IE, and only IE, as the browser for at least the past 10 years, I find it hard to beleive that most people new to using computers will be immediantly removing IE in favor of Firefox, Mozilla, or opera.

In order for a Newbie to have anything other than IE:
A) They are using a Machintosh
B)They have used a computer long enough to figure out what mozilla is, and why they might want it.

Smoth, if you feel the need to futher rant about why "I beleive most noobs use IE" is wrong, go for it. I just hope you have some other reason, aside from assumptions.

I wonder why... Cuz I don't care to change.. Everything I have seen is not groundbreaking or excellent, or would make my life any better, at all..

You miss the point, you are not to judge them one way or another. it is just a preference and it is not right to criticize someone like that. You have no justification to be condescending about someone because they use a browser that others do not, it is just rude.
