/me is an ageist...

those teenage kids have a lot of hormones running through their system, their minds are physically changing in structure. So yeah, kids will be silly. Many of them have little to no self control. However, adults can be just as immature. The problem with kids is that cursing and being a jerk are new and exciting. They want to strike out explore this new possibility with often disastrous results.

Take for example MechaSonic/Crappage. He is a complete moron, I blame his youth and will bash him accordingly. In time he will learn to straighten up or just keep those "thoughts" to himself. In the mean time we have to deal with him. Now, I am not saying he is or is not a nice kid he just has to learn social skills and also learn that everyone has problems. He isn't special, he is just different like everyone else.

I started on this forum when I was fifteen...did anyone notice?

I don't know. Now I'm seventeen...did anyone notice?

I still don't know. But I do know that it's worth learning grammar, sentence structure and HOW TO TYPE.

Saying things like this:

i is ageist i hate the older people who say oh ur imiture u must be 15. ps i=12

Is a great way to get the label: Immature and hasty. This is NOT CS. You don't need to type everything in a micro second before a sniper blows your head off. You have minutes, entire minutes, to think up, write and spell check a new post. It's not that hard, and suddenly people think your a persona worth listening too.

And if you get Firefox, it has a built-in spell checker! You don't even need to *gasp* use copy and paste

PS: I'm 15, and an avid FPS gamer. I make sure that any message not in game is at least grammatically passable.

If you want my goddamn respect, you better fucking earn it. If you don't, then I won't hesitate to call you a prepubescent little bitch, if I feel like it - no matter how much crotch hair you may actually have.

If it bothers you that much, just don't tell people how old you are.

Perhaps its time I enlighten everyone with my (worthless) pearls of wisdom. Even at 20, I still find myself wasting what seems like an entire weekend trolling the ta-spring lobby, and losing horribly in spring games.

Long version:

Theres a few things that stand out with younger people on the internets, from my point of view. Arrogance, (lack of) grammar and punctuation, and lack of respect for anyone. Its not really limited to age, ive seen people 50+ acting like a 5 year old at work, except they are more inclined to use "sentance enhancers" when they are frustraited.

Who here has gone for a job interveiw? The employer doesnt know much about you. They see you, they see your clothing, how you walk in, and how you present yourself. Without even looking at your resume, the employer should be able to get a good idea, very quickly, about what kind of person this is, just by how they act and speak. They could of course discriminate against race, age, weight etc.

This isnt quite true with the intarweb, because it is anonymous. All we see is what the person has written, and their username. You could argue that I spend too much time on the internet, but its fairly easy for me to pick out possible suspects for young'uns. The easily agitated people who roll on for a page or so of flaming and attacks when frustraited (drive-by hissy fits/tantrums)and people who mangle the english language, such as "R U goeing 2 the gam?"

Im not saying that every person needs to spell words correctly, but dont complain if you are accused of being a 13 year old noob. its all weighed on what you type. I have been accused of being an asshole, stubborn, and annoying (which is all mostly true). How would someone deduce this and make these claims? By reading what I write, and saying "man this guy is really pissed off at everything".

Short version:

Act like an over-caffinated toddler with no parental supervision, dont complain if you are called one.

Off to the slave mines with the lot of you!

Back in my day, I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down at the mill, and pay the mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad and our mother would kill us and dance about on our graves singing Hallelujah.

Try telling that to the young people today. They won't believe you, they won't!
