"Fallout Tactics: Great but HARD" ...and no RPG. At all.
Also I'm truely glad I missed out on Fallout BOS (PS2).
Yeah there was a Fallout 3, it met the same fate as Duke Forever. Let's hope Betheseda does not bastardize it... too much.
Arcanum on the other hand only got the SPECIAL system in common with Fallout. The game itselfs blatantly sucks. Trust me, I'd rather play Fallout 1 on DOS for the 103912039th time than finish Arcanum even once. It looks all fancy in the beginning until you get further into the game. Nowhere near the level of Fallout, gameplay wise.

I don't particularly trust "Interplay" as a competent development studio... When Black Isle loses creative control to Interplay things like fallout brotherhood of steel happen.
I seriously question weather Bethesda can pull off a fallout title from my experience of morrowind. Frankly I'm fairly disappointed in the lack of titles even attempting to touch on the fallout formula. There are entirely too few games where you can collect massive arsenals firearms and use them creatively and destructively to produce results reminiscent of something you might expect in real life. Fallout hit the nail on the head.

I still liked Fallout tactics. It was hard, but fun and I'm still stuck on the eight level out of twenty or so.
What I really don't want is a Oblivion with Guns. Cuase in Fallout, you play as charicters, but in Oblivion you play as rather 'generic races'. In Fallout you can make a really dumb strong guy, or a really slinky agile theif with a face as ugly as a plate. In Oblivion you can play one of nine races and you can't change anything about them! Now thats fine for Oblivion, but for Fallout it'd suck.
Fallout without Bloody Mess and Jinxed is no Fallout at all. Oh and the abilty to kick rats in the crotch and shoot people in the kneecap with a shotgun.

Ya, and the fact that it would tell you in gruesome detail how the rat nuts were being crushed or how shards of kneecap were being blasted out the other side. Even if it didn't always match the death animation it made it alot more fun to try.Zoombie wrote:I still liked Fallout tactics. I went ahead and fixed this for you:Zoombie wrote:The grand history of Fallout:
Fallout 1: Great
Fallout 2: Great but simmaler to Fallout 1
Fallout Tactics: Great but HARD
Fallout Brotherhood of Steel: Consolized and horrible to boot
Fallout 3: Bethisda taken control. Oh please god, don't 'oblivionize' it.
Fallout Online: I dunnkow.
Fallout1 and 2: Great
Fallout Tactics: #1 reason to hate australia (A purposefully not capitalized out of disresepect.)
Fallout BOS: I never heard of it, which is for the best.
F3: who know until/if it's finished.
Agreed, Tatics is not good. It's just... a tatics shooter.jackalope wrote:I went ahead and fixed this for you:Zoombie wrote:The grand history of Fallout:
