The state of the Uni... no, Forum

Post by Johns_Volition »

It seems to me that these forums have recently turned in a huge flamefest and I would ask for the moderators to be a little bit more strict about upholding the rules.
What I mean with this is: Giving out warnings for everyone who starts flaming, as well as for everone who flames back. I relize that hurting things are being said, but nothing is won by shouting back like a rabid gorilla.

Moreso I request that these rules are applied universally, that weird french people that can't take criticism and start telling how stupid their testers are are being warned and ultimatly banned, but also people that are immature and can't take a little insult on an internet bulletin board. Hell people that are doing so fantastic mods like EE and Gundam are behaving like 10 year olds.

so please get some civility back here. And mods, use your abilities.

God what a shitty idea! Who made you in charge anyway!

;)

Yeah, i think he has a point. However, its more a mark of the maturity of the community in anything that such retardity has to exist in first place - and yes, i know im not helping by "irking on" the Great Beasts, Forboding and smoth...

*edits out long rant* You are such a hypocrite. You don't know half of the fucking story so don't but in. What have you done for anyone in this community? What do you know about ANY of the conversations that have happened. Yeah, after a year PLUS of bullshit people get short fuses. Don't speak out of your ass.

I'm not saying that I should be omitted of moderation. Therefore I am not able to understand the hypocritical part of my request. tata

Ah, Smoth is still Smoth ;)
The TA community, growing or not, will remain an odd bunch of fellows. Some with some crazy way of reaction. You can either learn to deal with it, or go find a solution.
Personally, I don't think there is a solution to flaming. Since even the most 'respected' people tend to lit fire themselves.
People who just act out of order are warned, and sometimes removed. The moderators do their job.

I agree. Mods, you need to tighten the hand cuffs a bit more.

I have plenty of examples of such behaviour from you and many others in #main. using double standards for the lobby and the forums is just ridiculous.

Though I agree with the sentiment that moderator policy recruitment and banning in this communtiy is questionable at best, and I feel sorry for those moderators who do well.

Yeah, Mods ban everyone who says any word containing the words "Shit", "Crap", "asshole". That way, most flamers will be banned.

I think everyone knows there are some small problems on these forums, so making a thread like this seems quite pointless to me. It just makes yet another opportunity to start flaming the hell out of eachother, without actually solving anything.

Everyone just has to chill out from time to time.

Mods are doing a great job already, but lately...I dunno, the spring community has been getting more flamish, problably cause of the lack of releases!
This is all SJ's fault and ill be damned if we have to clean it up!

Seiriously, I dunno what the hells with people lately.

Um, You can just get the fuck out really. How is it in any ways SJ's fault? You do realise his life doesn't revolve around makinhg spring, right?

How the fuck, Does in any way, having a lack of releases cause flaming? Do you see the Supreme commander forums full of flaming because it isn't done yet? No. Now shut up.

According to smoth, you and dragon are the reason hes leaving. So you can shut up with tiny font size 1 text.

SJ doesnt do releases, Jelmer cnossen aka zaphod decides when spring is ready for a release. Jelmer cnossen is the one who builds and distributes the installer.
