Actually, your advice is what gave me that idea. Im sure its nothing new, but im rather slow (in case you havent noticed). Thanks! I guess it just took me several hours for it to register that i could do that...

What? No switch statment in the scripts? Thats just crazy...

Anyways, as im no good at modeling units, Im going to try to model some building, like the Minifig Breeder, the Vehicle Constructor, and the Brick Cannon.

Well i made a tank, and for some reason spring doesnt even detect it. I cant find it anywhere in my builder unit's menu. I messed around with the Download TDF, but that all seems correct. I bet theres some stupid misnamed file or something, but i cant find it. Could someone please look through this and see whats wrong?

I'm not [explitive deleted] touching anything in ufo format, put it into a zip file so we don't have to beat you up. I don't even know if the new version of the engine can use that format...

I think the commander should be a little lego man in a wheel chair. And when he moves, his arms push the thing along. The back of the wheel chair unfolds into a D-Gun/Nano. That would be so funny and awesome!

I'm a little lost when it comes to sidedata/download... so I had te replace the ARMSOLAR... you can also choose a THIRD side that contains just the tank by itself... someone who knows how to do sidedata/download can fix it now... it looks really teh awsome...

Switch statements are no different from a series of if statements the runtime is not that different in anything that you TA people would implement.

the NEW Versaion is based on XTAPE and it acctually works without overriding any current stuff... you need to get yourself a screenshot for the build pics folder...

I get an error, it says
"Error loading mod: LegoModv2 (TAM)"

It worked once, actually, but i got a bunch of missing file errors: armor.txt, beep9.wav, etc.

i cant figure this out, i really want to see my creation!

it works fine on my end... make sure you have XTAPEV3.sd7 in your mods folder... make sur eyou put THE WHOLE file I sent you in the mods folder...

Well Sheekel can't seem to get it to work for him... I posted a script that can be used for this in the comments section... if you can't get it to work contact me somehow so I can figure out why... if you can, then Sheekle it the one whoes screwed up :P... make sure you try to Self D the TANK cause it looks teh awsomes...

I had some peeps in the forums try it out and it's working good... added a buildpic and adjusted some issues I had created with sound...

Well, im considering textures for the BOTTOM of the blocks. It would make the bricks a bit more realistic. Just look at the bottom of a piece of lego, im thinking of making some like that. What do you think?

Also, i think there should be specialized factories. An infantry factory, vehicles (tanks and Wheels), planes, ships (im dreading making water units...i never liked them much).

Have we reached a verdict of the commander style?

I am currently thinking that this mod doesnt have a whole lot of interest from the community, with the exceptions of a few people...

...i hope this is all worth it...

I think there is interest... but you really have no basic, unifying idea set out yet... if your plannning to make a ARM/CORE clone with lego pieces then that's cool... if your planning to start from scratch with something cool that's great... I would like to see some of the upgrades ideas and such that a lot of people throw ideas around for in this mod... the advantage here is that really... the 3D modelling part is going to be dead simple once you get the hang of it... and it's a great place to try new things...

I think now that you have your first Unit in game, whoever is going to be the "core team" needs to get together and come up with like a "vision statement" or whatever... I don't mind helping out here but I'm basically as much of a n00b as the rest of you and probably worse at playing spring too...

I finally convinced my friend, who is a pretty good modeller, to join the "team." This should allow me some time to learn to script complex animations (activations, walking, etc.) for which i have no experience. Does anyone know of a good scripting tutorial (something to learn me some walk animations)? Or do i just need to figure it out through trial and error...

I made a fresh install of spring, but it still wont work:
Error: Couldnt load button9.wav
Fatal Error: Armor.txt not found

I tried adding these files to the mod file but that didnt work...

I just got a great idea! Instead of the commander being a hand, lets have the cursor be a hand! The hand can sort of "pulsate" when inactive, or twiddle its thumbs or something.
