springfiles.com migrated to new server!

Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
I've uploaded more versions of my game and a new map recently.
The game package seems to have been downloaded automatically for most people, but doesn't show up on the api (latest one shown there is v1.39, latest uploaded to SF is v1.47).
The map I've uploaded two days ago is "Highway 95 East v1". It doesn't show the "heightmap/metalmap/minimap" images that normally should appear for uploaded maps and people haven't been able to automatically download it through the lobby.

Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
The infra continues to deliver.
Now springfiles is down. Consequentially all PRd downloads are down as well.

Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
What can the average springizen contribute to resolve ?
Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
meh, springfiles.com really needs to be migrated to somewhere else. this server is way to unstable:

(help is welcome ! )

Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
what does "way too unstable" mean exactly?
the website is completely unavailable since a few days ago, what broke?

Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
Well, it seems you fixed the site being offline part, springfiles is accessible again.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
IceXuick reported that there is still an issue with springfiles currently:
https://github.com/springfiles/upq/issues/62
Could you pick up on this and take a look if this can be solved any soon? This makes us unable to update maps since 1,5 a month now. Thank you in advance.

Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
Springfiles is online but it's not working properly.
I was going to upload a new game version, but after uploading the metalfactions-v1.48.sdz the page reloads with the empty "create file" form.

https://api.springfiles.com/upload/
I've tested uploading metalfactions-v1.49.sdz here using my forum password and my springfiles password and get "Invalid username or Password" in both cases (the user name is the same).
What does "springrts.com Username" on the form mean?

Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
With the lobby credentials i was able to upload metalfactions-v1.50.sdz.
It doesn't show up on springfiles or on "https://api.springfiles.com/" though.

because its already there:raaar wrote: ↑08 Jan 2021, 05:58 It doesn't show up on springfiles or on "https://api.springfiles.com/" though.

Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
right, you had shown me that before for an earlier version. The version is shown if "Metal Factions v1.50" is used on the search box, but not "Metal Factions*". Using "metal_factions-v1.50.sdz" on the filename filter also gets no results despite the output shown below.
The output I got was kind of confusing:
the result shows a mirror
but if i click the link i get a "404 not found".
These don't show up on the main springfiles website which is now showing spam: Is the main springfiles web site going to be taken down? might be a good idea if we get another kind of index for content. But this needs to be more reliable. It's very easy to miss things using the search filter atm.
It'd be nice if we could migrate the springfiles data to the new format in such case.

Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
thats "known", but the importance is/was very low as long as springfiles.com exists. its more to show the functionality of the api. a quick hacked frontend for that api shows what could be possible: https://api.springfiles.com/newindex.html but this needs a lot of love to be useful.raaar wrote: ↑09 Jan 2021, 01:06 right, you had shown me that before for an earlier version. no clue, but its just a matter of time when it will break again: maybe at some point unfixable. the issues you wrote are known:
https://github.com/spring/upq/issues/66
https://github.com/spring/upq/issues/61
what you see is the result of to few manpower + lack of motivation.
Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
i'll send you an alternative newindex.html with more features.
Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
the json replies lack some of the data that's on the springfiles entries, namely
- thumbnail links (vs the big image links)
- content description
(also this)

Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
what you see on springfiles.com is close to completely unrelated to what you see on api.springfiles.com: the data is in a different database.
creating a script which creates thumbnails of existing pictures would be some "homework". the content description could be migrated: but this requires a possibility to edit it by the uploader / "owner", also some format for simple layout stuff is required i guess, markdown is a good candidate.
my only wish when touching the backend code of upq is: replace the php code with python as this allows to remove a lot of duplicate code.
