CHOOSE YOUR DESTINY
It has been voiced many times that Melee Kombat is very hard to do in Spring, so i've decided to disrupt this dominant paradigm by running a Kontest with fights to the death between modified melee units of currently active and/or interested Spring projects. (while joyfully concocting a DoW-like melee combat engine to run it)
By default, i'm hijacking Smoth's littledino, ZK Scythe, and Journeywar's TigerLily as the initial roster.
Any other projects can nominate their Kontestants!
The requirements are as follows:
1) Unit must exist in melee role to some extent before submission!
2) Must use a melee weapon or hand-to-hand as a primary means of attack. Secondary pistols or such are allowed as "special ability" cooldown moves, but don't push it.
3) Must be somewhat interesting to animate. That is, ZK's Jack is unacceptably simple. (of course you can suggest your model to be more interesting by proposing the cool moves for it).
4) Submitted Kontestant units and their assets must be under a reasonably liberal license.
You can specify some special abilities for your Kontestant that it can employ during Kombat. For instance, the Scythemaster can become invisible.
A portrait pic is welcome. You can even write a bio about how your Kontestant decided to enter the Kontest.

KP Worm! Yeah, no limbs but I'm sure you could come up with some silly moves for the thing.

Competor: The Claw
(KaiserJ's crane vehicle thing from some Industrial maps)
Attacks:
-Punch in the face
-Run over stuff/ramming
-Pick up with claw and smash into ground/throw away
Special move 1:
Spin turret really fast.
To be used for knocking away multiple enemies when surrounded.
Special move 2:
Something like this:
No idea what it would be good for.

The Slicer, people said it was sinfully ugly, but it had a nonhuman appearance with an arm with a light saber attached, that was assisted by a counterweight rocket booster on the other side that allowed it to do a spin slash effectively to spin 360 effectively to fight off swarm raider bots.Google_Frog wrote:Now to dredge up the old lightsabre bot from the CA experimental factory....
