Discuss game development here, from a distinct game project to an accessible third-party mutator, down to the interaction and design of individual units if you like.
I really think I am going to go towards a sound editor/manager carrier! Making sounds for mods would be perfect training for me! I earlier made some sounds for Tower Defence Mod but I was disappointed in smoth's progress on it!
KP could use a few more sounds. Should sound computery though, nothing realistic.
I'll list what I can think of:
-Packet laser (thin beamlaser, fires a lot so nothing loud)
-Bug artillery shot and impact (small ballistic shot, weak and often used in larger groups)
-Obelisk fire and impact (fires a red energy ball that creates a poison cloud upon impact)
-SIGTERM "nuclear" blast (huge, rising pillar of fire)
-Flow shot and impact (small and fast energy bolt with a mid-sized explosion, fired in bursts)
-Connection arc beam (electric arc)
So you're the one who did the TD sounds. They sound quite nice! I'd help work on it more myself but I just don't have the time
Oh, and I suppose to help fulfill Zsinj's pandering quota I'll mention you can help SWS and yada yada but I'm sure everyone here knows that by now and is tired of hearing it.
Weapons:
(auto-)cannons, rockets/missiles, torpedos, energy torpedos, sonic weapons, small firearms (rifles, pistols, miniguns, MGs), (pulse-)LAZERS, etc.
Misc:
driving sounds (road, offroad etc), motor kick up or vehicle sounds in general, screaming tires, typical mechincal sounds robots make in the movies :P, background humming (cars, tanks, ships, even spaceships), gunfire, birds, shore waves, typical jungle sound, stomping sounds, uh I've run out of ideas.
That covers a lot of games (including what I'm working on :P).
Kernel Panic requested sounds Done!! Though I don't think you should use 44KHz on those sounds, because they are simple and my created sounds are at the size of 800Kb(Though 44Khz sounds may still sound much smoother). The names will give you a hand for what each is!
