Currently spring has a synced-only AllowWeaponTarget callin which allows you to fine tune a given weapon's targeting behavior via any arbitrary system that you define in game rules. Specifically it allows you to enable or disable auto-targeting a given potential target and to assign a priority value to each target and the engine will choose the target with the lowest prio value.
However for unit chase behavior there is no such callin, which means for units whose targeting depends on what they're chasing there is no way to control the behavior.
Unit scripts have a similar issue, where there is a script.BlockShot callin for weapon control but nothing for controlling chase behavior.
