Re: Back from the Grave - Engines of War, playable version!

Me <--- still agape at the awesomeness Smoth posted here. Engines Commited! - so they'll be in the playtest version for Sunday (we'll be uploading later today). Next up - the rest of the units :). @Wombat - at the moment, that's the softest of all :P - a big damage dealer, but can't take much punis...

Re: Back from the Grave - Engines of War, playable version!

Wicked Sick! Bujah Smoth, that rocks like hell! For those voicing dissent - it's nice that you have feelings for the game already, but before you complain, try making some content for the game yourselves! I think it's pretty demeaning to reply in such a negative tone to great work like Smoth's. Smot...

Re: Lua constants defined after defs are processed?

I could dig out the quote, but my info was that "yes you can change unitdefs in game - but it's an unstable feature, meant only for devving..." (and at least GameStart is certainly already "ingame" in that all the unitdefs have already been loaded - dunno about GamePreload). I ju...

Re: Back from the Grave - Engines of War, playable version!

:-) Picasso. Echo - Yes and no. We mean to improve on the current one - if you'd be interested in that, be sure to send me a PM or such :P. In general, of course you could try making a map that is suited to the gameplay - if by "is it possible" you mean "are the tools available to pla...

Re: Playtest games - every Sunday

Sorry bout the late answer. Last time we played, it was only one round - about 30 minutes maybe. All the relevant bugs and issues were already noted by then, so we didn't bother doing another game. This time round though, I think the game will already run a good bit better, so me might play a few - ...

Re: Back from the Grave - Engines of War, playable version!

Wow! There's been a lot written, so I'll try to keep my replies short: @nightcold - glad to hear you got it working :). @Rafal - that's a really good hint, thanks for pointing it out! @knorke - thanks for the Replay - it'll come in handy when we want to squash that bug (though if it's none gameplay ...

Re: Back from the Grave - Engines of War, playable version!

Thanks nightcold for the feedback! I'll address some of the points later. New version . Same link. And I forgot to change the version number - oh well, hope that doesn't cause any trouble.... Changelog: Changes by Alter Heide: - ability names displayed in GUI for levelups - a bit of base props was a...

GUI / Controls by Version 0.0.2 (midweekversion): - needs to say what abilities the units [Engines] have so I am not just blindly clicking buttans. - If I click anywhere during the start count down, the mech selection screen doesn't appear (but I can still build one from factory) - UI obscuring cha...

Re: Feedback collection

Feedback that has been addressed / is fixed:
I'm sorry, but I'm not going to be quoting here anymore - it's too much hassle to move over otherwise.

Plus, I'll be listing which version the issues were addressed in, and then delete after a certain time /number of versions.

Re: New to BA/Spring, have a few questions

I think this widget is what your looking for (at least it's similiar). Throw it in your /LuaUI/widgets folder (same as it's in in the zip file actually) to install it.
There's lots of other interesting widgets where that one came from, might be noted :).

Re: Back from the Grave - Engines of War, playable version!

Re: Back from the Grave - Engines of War, playable version!

I do happen to have Gundam 1.26 installed ÔÇô and I'm well aware of the beauty of your maps! (And believe me, using one of them was a definite attraction - difficulty was none sprung to my eye that'd work well with the "lines" concept). However, I don't see us releasing on IndieDB for a wh...

Re: Back from the Grave - Engines of War, playable version!

First off, sorry Nightcold that it's not working for you :(. I've put clear installation info up front in the first post now (thanks for pointing that out Wombat). I'd suggest you try this: remove the LUPS-file you put in your Luaui folder (though I tested, and that didn't give me an error). Make su...

Re: Feedback collection

Graphics -The Engines are a bit too grey maybe? More teamcolor might make them look better and also help in MP? -later turned the Night widget of as I could not see what was going on. -There was one turret with completly black texture i think. - less sporadic team coloring OR add team colored plate...

Playtest games - postponed for the moment!

Edit: No playtest games atm, sorry! [/b] --------- Download Instructions: To play you will need three files - the map (Busan.sd7) , the game file (EnginesofWar-alpha.sd7) and the LUPS file (LUPS_MODULE.sdz) . The last two go in your Spring/games/ (or Spring/mods/ ) folder. --------- As stated in ou...

Re: Back from the Grave - Engines of War, playable version!

I won't reply to all the GUI comments in detail - most of them I concur to, and all in all, the GUI is certainly still WIP. A few points I wanted to address though: - If I click anywhere during the start count down, the mech selection screen doesn't appear (but I can still build one from factory) Th...

Re: Back from the Grave - Engines of War, playable version!

Note: knorke got in before my reply - now I had to quote stuff :P. I played a little bit of LoL, and there: 1) You pretty much one shot every mob, if not kill more than one per shot 2) You can easily dance in and out of the frontline LoL must be pretty different to DotA then (at least some ways). O...

Re: Feedback collection

GUI / controls i just played a fun game with myself by myself... and some ai. any ways. i find the controls difficult. before when we had the WASD for movement and click to kill set up like diablo it seemed easier for me. now it seem i get kill a lot faster by getting into places i don't want to be...
