Re: Squarablity of the maps
Terrain is rendered in patches, each has a 1024x1024 texture which equals to 2x2 map tiles.

Q: buying a MacMini as OSX buildbot?
tl'dr: using donations (either existing or new ones) to buy a MacMini to get a new OSX buildbot up costs 100-300€ (in worse case 500-600€) we don't know what would be needed for our needs (hw & os version) who buys/houses it? is there an interest at all for it? Any OSX user knows more and can gi...

Re: cookies! now!
Is there a way to make the previous view disappear faster? I am asking for a way to configure how long it takes for a view to merge into another view and for a view to forget previous data more rapidly. Also you can create your own shader (just copy one of the shaders/GLSL/info*.lua) and then use: ...

Re: cookies! now!
The blending is quite slow (alpha=0.05), so it takes some time. But increasing that doesn't make the los view any faster. Esp. in case of a flying radar plane the sim update rate is quite visible. It might that be the los update rate is less 30 frames per seconds (but I can't see anything that indic...

Re: cookies! now!
It's even a bit more than just that. It's a total rewrite of how the infotexture works. Before all data was generated on the CPU and then send to the GPU to render it. Pako already noticed that the interpolating/upscaling of the los data on the cpu is slow as hell and that uploading the raw data in ...

Re: Building from git on wheeze
You only need a lobby, the spring binaries don't need to be compiled yourself.
When the lobby is recent enough it will download the linux static builds, that run on any linux.

Re: Tiberium code help
It's very bugged in 98, currently working on the patch (it will also add the ability to harvest energy).1) Despite adding the harvestStorage tag to my unit (a reclaim only), it simply reclaims the tiberium and returns it right back to the pool of metal.

Re: Dual screen spring 98
I use a dual screen setup and spring 98 seems to emulate fullscreen by using a borderless window frame, right? It's an option, but it's default _off_. So would it be possible to make spring span the window across both monitors to have a dual screen mode? I tried setting "XResolution" in s...

Re: Newsbox on springrts.com frontpage
Never understood why content devs never requested to be able to create threads in news. Giving them their own news subforum with auto rights to post there, is a great idea. To bad I want to get 98 done afap, and after that I want to help gajop on chililobby & mapper. So html/php work is far away...
