Re: Autohosts operating non-downloadable engines

How many gigabytes of downloads are there per year? Cloud object storage seems cheap enough for this, 100GB storage+download would be about $2 / mo

Re: Segfault with 103 engine on Linux

Hello,

1) 103.0 is unsupported, upgrade to 104.0.

2) Engine bug reports should go here https://springrts.com/mantis/view.php

Re: Future of BAR

There are so many separate people working on Lobby's, it's just bizarre! I think people should join forces and make just 1 really good one. We're also checking out the Notalobby - you familiar with that one? @ThinkSome do you have some examples of what you've accomplished so far? Some screenshots o...

Re: Future of BAR

Hello, We'll we've done a lot in the mean time, but we still need a (very) good plan for the lobby and install procedure as well. - We tried Chobby/Lobby... but no real succes there - Look into missions But in the end, we still need a proper way to let people play it as easy as possible, with the ri...

Re: Automatic uploads of engine (crash) logs

How about .. renaming "text" to "object" and have this hold an uploader-defined JSON object tree. SL would then have at minimum 3 objects underneath: "lobbyLog", "engineLog" and "replay". I don't know if anyone is parsing / processing them yet. I bri...

Automatic uploads of engine (crash) logs

Hello, The next version of Springlobby will hopefully have the ability to automatically upload engine crash logs: https://framagit.org/specing/springlobby/issues/3 What I'd like engine developers in particular to provide is: 1) Improvements to the troubleshooting message (top part of crash reporter ...

Springlobby wxFormBuilder migration instructions released

They are here and detail what has to be done in order to port existing C++ code over to wxFB.

The use of wxFormBuilder should ease maintenance of the GUI and the code behind it. It should allow anyone to change the looks of SL without having to look at any code (within limits, of course).

Location, shape and colour of content-presence indicators

Hello, I am looking at unifying the way content presence (i.e. if you have the map/game/engine downloaded) is indicated. Right now Battlelist/Multiplayer has one indicator per content type in the main dataview, while Replays has one indicator at the left side of the Date column. indicators.jpg The q...

Re: Autohosts operating non-downloadable engines

If the problem is engines taking up too much space on the server, then it can be solved without download issues by having the server act as an LRU reverse proxy cache for some other server that sits at someone's home.

Re: Autohosts operating non-downloadable engines

Another 8 of the hosted engines fell off the build server, and another (old) newbie + me wasted time debugging this.

Now there are 10 such hosts. In other words, 22% of all hosts offer games on engines that cannot be downloaded. Good job!

Re: SpringLobby testing for springlobby 0.268

In the interim period, the server could send an email only if an email address was provided. The server knows when the email address is provided, naturally.

Improved field of fire display

Does there already exist an improved field-of-fire display code that would, in addition to left and right traverse of deployed guns, show which terrain is hidden behind obstacles and which is not? The current display of field of fire in s44 is the following: fof.jpg As you can see, it does not indic...
