Re: ShardLua games configurations dev

So first things first, I renamed my GitHub account from tarendai to tomjn, but this broke a few things, so I recreated the tarendai account as a mirror so older builds of spring aren't broken. Use https://github.com/tomjn/shard Finally, the other repos haven't anything to do with me and the official...

Re: Shard 0.4/dev

I'm considering a change to how commands are issued to units and event handling, namely using promises, you'd be able to write something like this: unit:attack( enemy ):next( function( result ) -- attacking the enemy now return unit:idle() end, function( err ) -- something went wrong, maybe the unit...

Are we sure this isn't a CPU-bound situation?

Re: Is spring a platform as well as an engine?

I tried doing that with AFLobby, it had support for GLEST, and I experimented with limited OTA support. They were treated as options the same way that Spring games were. Suffice to say it never really went anywhere

Request: Lightweight Map

I'm in need of a map, specifically: Has a very low load time Smallest filesize possible Smallest map size possible No features or options Aesthetics are irrelevant The goal being to load the engine headless to run some routines without player interaction then exit immediately. The map should have th...

Re: Unitsync Access

This would suggest that it's possible to get a list of games AIs and maps: https://springrts.com/wiki/Lua_VFS#Archives I did spot: [quote] VFS.DownloadArchive New in version 101.0 [/quote What system does this use? I don't see any examples or a way of getting a list of archives that can be downloade...

Re: Unitsync Access

Do lua gadgets have full access to unitsync data via the APIs, or just the archives that are already loaded into the VFS? If so it might be possible to write a game that writes out the necessary information

Re: Unitsync Access

I'm not using it in an AI, but SpringLobby uses the DLL/etc interface, which isn't possible in most dynamically typed languages without jumping through hoops and the nightmare of marshalling data types. Setting up JNI for AFLobby<->Java<->Unitsync access was a lot of work, and JNA was that much more...

Re: promote spring engine

wow... great why dont you put on the website too? That would make lot more people. I believe... Which game? Usually when people say promote spring, they have a specific game in mind that they play, for most of our history "Advertise Spring" has meant "Advertise AA/BA". The problem is, even though t...

Unitsync Access

I'm currently trying to figure out how to access unitsync to get lists of games, maps, and their minimaps, but I've ran into several issues that I don't have answers for: Unitsync used to have a method for generating JPEG minimaps, which no longer exists How do I extract data from a dynamically type...

CSS Spring Logo

https://springrts.com/phpbb/download/file.php?id=10026 The spring logo is a rasterized logo, no true Vector version exists, but not there's a CSS/HTML version! This should scale up and down infinitely, but also includes some changes: No more glossy sheen, this is 2016 not 2007 Shadow around the edg...

Re: KAIK or RAI slow to load

The performance problems have a major fix in shardLua cause we was concentrated only on shardLua and waiting a "feature freeze" to push and test the same things on shardDev. In fact the develop of shard for BA/BAR is totally frozen from 2 month Nobody told me this, or announced it, and it was activ...

Re: KAIK or RAI slow to load

Ah that was more a response to MasterBel2, I'm not sure of the scope of what changed in ShardLua. I made adjustments to the main Shard codebase that would help it work on both the C++ and inside a game, but there are things from ShardLua that need backporting

Re: KAIK or RAI slow to load

Shard doesn't do pathfinding and relies entirely on the engine for it, unless something like sending a construction vehicle to a metal spot on a distant island it can't reach is happening, or the base is packed too tightly, it's the engines fault

When you say less reliable, can you be more specific? If you're talking game crashes then let me know ASAP with infologs, but if you're talking about gameplay that's a little different

Re: Evolutionrts.info now redirects all requests to https

Setting up Certbot should only need to be done once then fully automated afterwards, I've got it running on a cron job on my own server to auto-renew certificates. Startcom shouldn't be trusted either, and Cloudflare HTTPS isn't really proper HTTPS, I'd move away from your host now rather than waiti...
