Re: File transfer infrastructure and verification issues
This is highly inoptimal for me, i would want the same way we can have unstable versions of games being available trough rapid applicable for maps too. Im sure this will be important in the future. Also is it possible to specify 3rd party file hosts as download servers for files in a autohost/lobby ...

Re: "Rebuild" EvoRTS
Hmm they dont seem all to hard to do from that list. I guess i could try it, but i need to know where i can get the current dev build. From my understanding it seems that you have little idea of what files are unneded and want everything in those listed issues new? Because if you can tell me what fi...

Re: Color Comliments
Well, long story short, it was late, i was lying on my back, on the floor, drunken, ashamed, in one hand the razor, in the other a bundle of hair - and i said to myself. "This is how you want to go? Low,miserable, and cold - and all just, because for one fleeting moment, one shitty drunken hou...

Nice one, if it is as straightforward to install and use as it seems then this will be interesting.
I wonder how well it performs compared to SME, gajop mentioned something about optimizations, i have no idea what he means tough.

Trains in spring would be awsome, i loved them in tibsun, if they had gameplay mechanics that would be so rad.

Re: Where is melbot?
Good to see this brought up.
I would like melbot to be brought back on freenode #spring1944/#s44 on lobby and if possible have it link to #moddev too trough freenode.

Re: lobby server, game content servers and player authentication
Nemo made a gadget that reads data from a database in json form which is generated on a web page and then spawns units based on that, so doable as third party thing already.

Re: Question wrt. springlobby github comment
I dont really see ingame lobbies taking off for multiplayer. As it is right now i use springlobby like an irc with gaming plugin, i can leave it on the whole day and mind my own business even if i dont play at all or i can wait for hours for a game and not be disturbed by the waiting. Tough i think ...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted
Github is useful for more than just tracking changes. It allows for clean issue reporting, discussion and third party contributions. Strongly advise you use that or any other VCS tool + issue tracking site. I dont see this thing dragging on itself too far so i think its overkill at this time and it...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted
Do you have a github/project page? Nope, source and (pathetic) documentation included. Changes are mostly simple, i see no reason to use a version control system at this point. One thing you coudl fix is the terracing effect it causes if you output height to a low depth file format. Only raw ever w...

Re: Outdated install instructions?
Which is really sums up everything about how games should be distributed. Yup. The best thing is if people join our autohost named "s1944: stable" and let the lobby grab things for them. The official website is highly outdated and long ago marked for scrapping and that news page concerns ...

@raaar Cool, hope it gives you some attention you deserve. Seems i had completely forgotten to mention that the best thing would if there was a lobby window where all games are displayed in a small summary where you can pick them out of to download. Another idea i came up with perhaps some way of be...
