Re: walking metal extractors
wouldn't walking powerplants and metal converters make more sense?

Re: New Core T1 kbot
Yeah I think one of the things that balance TA out is that core has less attractive tier 1 kbot choices than arm, which is good since the t2 kbots for core are pretty fierce. I think I'll try and help make a nifty t2 arm kbot. It'll be called...

Re: my two cents
no, wind is variable energy. The primary difference between wind and solar as I see it is one is a surplus or buffer (wind) and is more dependent on storage to smooth out the variations. While solar is steady and is the regular unbuffered production part. Adjusting sunllight levels by 10-20% would t...

Re: New Map Format?
lmao So I'm learning to make maps with mapconv and all that good jazz and there going to be useless before I finish them. I just gave a glance to the link above for the map format. I think I am reading that there is no comile? Will the stuff I've been doing the past few weeks be able to be carried o...

my two cents
I just thought I would add my repetitive two cents worth about needing LOS/fog of war, and the ability to see the units ranges and los if I clicked on it(as it does when seeking to build it). I would also love to see more control of adjusting solar output.

Re: New Map Format?
Performance aside (which I rarely say), I think that this current format just allows me to do so many of the things I couldn't do in TA and TA:K because of the limitations of the tiles in cartographer etc. The down side for me, is that I am a crap artist, so my textures will ALWAYS look like dirt. T...

Re: Bottomless pit
So I didn't have much time last night. The screen shot, when I replicate it, will just be that red directional compass line, and a very close up of the sandy sea floor. Sorry I didn't get back, I shouldn't be as busy tonight so Ill post the height-map and screens if I can replicate the error. Also I...

Map optimizations for smucks like me..
Again sorry for posting in the wrong forum. Assuming I won't be the only n00b flopping around in the dark I was curious about a couple things. My comp is old and crappy, and on 24x24 and 18x18 maps performance tanks a little (as in stop frame) when I get up around 500 units. Now here is my qu...

Bottomless pit
Sorry to the admins for posting this in the wrong forum a second ago. There is a spot on both sides of a lake that covers the middle, lower third or so of the map. This spot is right before the map pitches downward in elevation toward the lake bottom. When commanders walk over this tiny littl...

Re: Big Pink map, sometimes with features
Thanks Foreboding, that was so totally the issue. I am uber happy now.
When I get this all down, I think I think I'll throw up a TS Faq. :)
And no, other guy, i don't really need holes in my map, but I will be posting a multi part question regarding one I don't want.

Big Pink map, sometimes with features
I have compiled and had this map work several times. Now, with without the feature map, instead of a texture I get all pink ground. About 50% of the time, it will toss in trees and geo-vents. I am assuming that the texture file is broken, which would just suck. Thing is, it loads and tells me what I...
