Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
right, you had shown me that before for an earlier version. The version is shown if "Metal Factions v1.50" is used on the search box, but not "Metal Factions*". Using "metal_factions-v1.50.sdz" on the filename filter also gets no results despite the output shown below. ...

Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
With the lobby credentials i was able to upload metalfactions-v1.50.sdz.
It doesn't show up on springfiles or on "https://api.springfiles.com/" though.

https://api.springfiles.com/upload/
I've tested uploading metalfactions-v1.49.sdz here using my forum password and my springfiles password and get "Invalid username or Password" in both cases (the user name is the same).
What does "springrts.com Username" on the form mean?

Re: Spring 105.0 released: maintenance release
Thanks and congratulations for making the 105 release from maintenance finally happen! how long should non-stable-branch-builds be stored? 120 days is fine IF you also keep the latest 3 builds regardless of how long they've been there. Abma we called loudly for you to just stop the script (you can j...

Re: springfiles.com migrated to new server!
Springfiles is online but it's not working properly.
I was going to upload a new game version, but after uploading the metalfactions-v1.48.sdz the page reloads with the empty "create file" form.

Re: Autodeletion of builds & types of buildbot (split from end of maintenance branch)
people harass you now because things broke and stayed broken for too long and noone else was able to fix them, we don't do this for fun. I know you're not getting paid for this and have other things to do, I thank you for your efforts and am fine with ocasionally waiting a few days for broken infras...

Re: Autodeletion of builds & types of buildbot (split from end of maintenance branch)
There should be clear instructions on how to build the engine for the various platforms (preferably from a single linux repository). Triggering engine builds automatically is a nice thing to have, but there should be a working fallback that does not rely on any external service. Each game dev that s...

Re: Pro and anti Discord
I think a culture shift where people just post on the forum more often should be enough.
Discord's relevant enough to make it worth it to have a presence there, but don't depend on it too much.

Re: Autohosts operating non-downloadable engines
As for unmaintained hosts: BAN THEM ALL! BA 8v8 on 103 does not hurt spring's image as much as the sea of unmaintained rooms with UNDOWNLOADABLE content!! Banning should only apply to old unmaintained hosts, not the ones using 1553 who got recently screwed by the latest developments. If Evo uses a ...

Re: [misc] SpringLobby 0.271 released!
I've migrated to a new server with ubuntu 20.04 and updated my spads hosts.
MF is now using the maintenance build 1563 that works with SL 0.271.

The cluster manager looks like something that'll enable game devs to set up matchmaking systems if properly integrated with the lobby.

Re: [misc] SpringLobby 0.271 released!
from the player's point of view the upgrade in its current state "breaks everything" : no games, no maps, no engines until they join a server that's using the latest maintenance build which can be downloaded automatically or manually trigger the download. For them to be able to play on the...

Re: The end of the maintenance branch
Yeah, the new static builds will fail on a lot of systems because they require GLIBC 2.29, so I guess it would be a good option to put back build 1553 online as afaik it is the last build which doesn't require GLIBC 2.29. glibc 2.29 was released 2019-01-31, ubuntu 20.04 has glibc 2.31 , debian 10 i...

Re: [misc] SpringLobby 0.271 released!
Another thing that happens is that it won't recognize any of the 32bit engines I had or any of the games/maps.
A quick fix is going to "tools > download archives" and writing "engine:spring 104.0.1-1563-g66cad77 maintenance" there to trigger the download.

Re: [misc] SpringLobby 0.271 released!
When clicking on the web site download buttons for installer or zip I get to download SL 0.271 win32 versions as well! The SpringLobby-updater on windows will migrate SpringLobby to x64: the existing x32 spring engine can't be used any more and have to be redownloaded. This seems to indicate that we...

Nice :) First test, i open SL 0.270, it prompts for update to 0.271, I allow but get the "Failed to download Item" popup. [size=85]2020-12-22 23:05:50.790 Info der/prdownloader.cpp:56 Starting download of filename: C:\Users\Rui\AppData\Roaming\springlobby\springlobby-latest.zip, name: http...
