Energy blades would make more sense in these contexts where melee attacks are used against armored targets like tanks and such. Limiting maxparticles significantly leads to horrible results where later in the game explosions aren't rendered at all. Whoever plays metal factions gets the maxparticles setting overriden to 20k. maybe there could be aliases to channels, for backwards compatibility. The lobbies could assume "gamedev" and "enginedev" match "moddev" and "sy", respectively.

Joining "enginedev" would be the same as joining "sy".

I doubt it'll have such a drastic impact on those services, it's probably just another step along the path toward censorship and control of the internet. The current lack of control on many of the games is partly a design decision from the game devs. They could have chosen to make the aircraft more maneuverable but more expensive (less spammable).
