Re: Quantitative Spring Economics
Well all we can do is speculate until we get empirical evidence. Does anybody know of a debug/simulation/god mode in which you can control both sides at once and place units around?

Re: Quantitative Spring Economics
This is very interesting. Is this bonus programmed in or is it a result of the units having greater difficulty firing on targets from different directions? I would think that envelopment would be the same as being lined up as long as the units are all within range of each other, however I might be m...

Re: Quantitative Spring Economics
lol @ using a WWI theorist's concept for anything even vaguely approaching a reasonable result for modern combat, given that his equation doesn't even address shelter or dispersion Or, to quote Ernest Adams, who already said it neatly: Lanchester's Laws also don't take into account such considerati...

Re: Quantitative Spring Economics
Okay, sorry for the previous caustic reply. You're obviously not a complete idiot. Try solving this simpler problem first: 1) You have 1 builder and 1 resource, money 2) Builder produces 100 money per minute 3) Builder can build other builders at cost of 100 money in one minute. 4) You can have as ...

Re: Quantitative Spring Economics
I understand that but, I had to make many simplifications to make the problem manageable, hence, the two resources. In economics, many simplified models provide surprisingly useful results. I will admit, however, that I am an amateur in the field. I will also admit that much experimentation needs to...

Quantitative Spring Economics
I have been playing spring for a little while (BA, AA, XTA, CA) and feel it might be interesting to use the tools of science and mathematics to analyze spring phenomena and perhaps use this knowledge to improve strategies and techniques. So without further ado heres my "mini-pseudo-academic&quo...
