Re: Engine fork and Ingame Community
Why does BA warn about fully FOSS compatible GPUs? (eg. Intel) Can you be more specific? Where does it warn / whats the exact message? Why Discord is being used for a FOSS community? That CMS is not freedom friendly because of 3rd party components and tracking. Thats a question that mostly goes to ...

where is the line? should the wiki list games like ta3d? coil is a fork.Google_Frog wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 00:34 If the wiki is meant to only list games that run on the official engine (106.0), then the page should be empty.

Re: Engine fork and Ingame Community
But it's entirely possible to designate the fork as the new official development branch, or any of similar measures that essentially amount to dropping the commits that drop useful code from the main official branch. There was no discussion about that, also it was never tried to do that. The compla...

Re: How do I download Bots?
Bots are already shiped with the engine. As they are often incompatible with the game they are hidden as default in springlobby. you can show them when you set edit -> lobby preferences -> general -> gui user level to "Professional".

Re: Engine fork and Ingame Community
It would be interesting to hear your own concerns though. Why not merge the fork, what are your worries? thats not possible: 106+ dropped a lot of code which the fork still has. A lot of game devs and people wanted opengl4 thats what spring 106+ is. It requires to drop a lot of old opengl code, wit...

Re: Engine fork and Ingame Community
It's nice to see that, ten years after I stopped visiting these forums, the drama is alive and well! yep it is. Please clarify your stance up front of how you expect games using such a fork of the Spring engine should be interacting with springrts.com, and its related services. as coil is not...

Re: The Great Pro-Am Showdown coming on January 14th!
Thanks for reaching out abma. My reasoning for putting it in this forum was based on the fact that while technically you are correct, in terms of the actual interests of people, in practice, the byar community and vanilla Spring community still have more mutual area on the Venn diagram than their i...

Engine fork and Ingame Community
Byar doesn't use the spring engine any more: i'm undecided if this post is offtopic.
Can you explain why this post fits into the "Ingame Community"?

Re: Not able to login (Firewall problem?)
springlobby connects to lobby.springrts.com:8200 (tcp).
you could test, if "telnet lobby.springrts.com 8200" works.

[misc] automatic reboots of springrts.com at 10 am GMT+1 (when needed)
the server springrts.com already installs automatic updates. sometimes its required to reboot the machine, i.e. when a new kernel version is installed. I've configured it to do so at 10 am GMT+1 as sometimes some kernel updates weren't installed for months. Today it happened the first time and as yo...

hmm, seems 0.267 isn't there: https://springlobby.springrts.com/dl/stable/
maybe the develop versions work: https://springlobby.springrts.com/dl/develop/
