I agree, a nice free (not counting the original TA's price) game. I like some of the little things, like a bulldog being thrown by a direct bertha hit, or the colored lines for queueing tasks, the attack radius outline, or the bertha shells that gracefully cruise through the air until impact. It's a...

hrmph: Telnet would give me an extra computer, w/ monitor and keyboard. I could make and select zillions of different battlegroups and give them orders, especially if one can get map coordinates (like I said, I have not elaborated on my position) Cheery: I probably don't understand bash as well as y...

I brought up telnet (which I have NO experience with) that it would not be much more difficult to implement than a regular command line, but you'd be able to use 2 keyboards, 2 screens, etc. I could see having a shitty comp networked next to my good comp. I telnet in from my shitty comp, and bamn, I...

Why? I can imagine selecting all idle aircraft plants to produce brawlers in the time it takes my to type 10 words. I can see this as an easy, sleezy way to add an extra screen (via telnet) that contains most of my statistics (freeing the main screen for the battlefield.) Yes, I would have to think ...

I haven't thought about the details much, but I've been inspired by bash and MySQL for a while, so the question is, would it be much work? If my programming ability is up to it, along with my free t...

Lets just put it this way: The game is very far into its development. I'm not complaining. Ok, would it be difficult for text based console of sorts on another monitor (thus using no graphics and not affecting the rendering engine)? Many people in linux have used text based consoles for q...

multiple monitors, early ideas
Multiple monitors has been mentioned a few times acording to my searches and it is now still early in game development, but it can't hurt to have a thread on it. I personally want the option of a 'command' screen. It would have the mini-map (maybe not so mini), statistics, resources producing, consu...
