Re: Buying a graphics card/mainboard: ATI or Nvidia

I have an ATI 4850 HD, with the latest drivers, all is working very good, no problem !

ATI is a good investisment for the future, ATI is opening the source code of their cards, they are doing large efforts for linux...

In my opinion, you should take an ATI card.

3D sound ?

Hello here ! I have a question. Why the 3D sound have not been implemented yet ? Is it difficult to do ? It would be a way better to have 3D sound... Actually, we can here battles we cannot see, and we cannot know where the sounds come from... That's very ugly to listen. (if my english is bad, excus...

First, i've installed it from the Packman repository, and spring can't launch : gael@linux-whp6:~/> spring spring: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/liballeg.so.4.2: undefined symbol: _poly_scanline_ptex_lit32d After, i've tried to compile spring. I've downlo...

Re: New Ubuntu Apt Repository for Spring

Is the hardy heron repository already updated ?
It's an LTS, i don't want to upgrade my Ubuntu version for the moment, so i hope this repository will continue to be updated.

Re: LOOOOOWWW FPS

Hey... I have this bug too in facts. =/ But under NOTA too... And Desactivating Lups doesn't change anything. I'm under an ATI card, so it's seems to come from the Spring Engine. The game is freezing every "x" seconds. It's very annoying. It affects more NOTA than CA, but i think all mods ...

Re: Bugfix release, 0.77b5

No ^^" But if clouds are not important, why do you ask player for rendering them ? I find another bug... The game is freezing every "x" seconds. It's very annoying. It affects more NOTA than CA, but i think all mods are concerned, so it's surely come from the Spring Engine. When the d...

Re: Bugfix release, 0.77b5

I've find what is the problem : Dynamic Clouds.

When i set Dynamic Clouds On, my FPS drop to ~20.
When i set Dynamic Clouds Off, my FPS up to ~100.

There's a problem with Dynamic Cloud... If it could be fixed, it would be cool.

Re: Bugfix release, 0.77b5

In 0.76, performance under Ubuntu 8.04 + Ati 4850 + 2go ram + Intel Dual Core 8400 @ 3 Ghz were way better than in 0.77b5. In 0.76, i had ~100FPS, and less 45 FPS. Now, i have 30 FPS maximum... Just notice that in some maps, i still have ~100 FPS. But in most of maps, the game is running at 30 FPS.....

On non-islands map, it's not pretty :)

It would be good, that the game detect if the map is an island or not :)

0.77 new water : strange bug

Hi :) There's a bit problem with the new water rendering mode... It's really beautiful, but, as you can see, there'is a bit problem... Water is going everywhere out of the map, not only on rivers or seas. http://oct17.imgshare.us/Vvt.jpg Is it normal ? I'm under Ubuntu 8.04, with a Radeon 4850 HD. D...
