Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.83
You're not going to do this because it seems too drastic, but this seems to me to be the only way to make kbots competitive with vehicles while still keeping the kbot "feel" - slower units with quirky abilities: Reduce t1 and t2 kbot unit costs by 25% across the board. My experience after ...

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.81
Fatboys, for example, are sort of the equivalent of Goliaths No. Even sumos suck No. Anyone who actually cares more about unofficial vs official versions of BA than about improving the unit balance is a moron. No. Kbots as a tier do not suck. Some changes are in order though, based on game experien...

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.81
Hey idiots, get back on the topic of kbots sucking. They suck. Sure, they're useful on extremely rough terrain, but there are very few maps with extremely rough terrain, because that also means unbuildable terrain. Even on maps that are decently lumpy (example: Lava Highground), vehicles are still b...

I set the metal maker widget to keep me at 90% energy, it seems to work pretty well even when I have lots of storage.

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.81
I think T1 vehicles vs T1 kbots are reasonably balanced, but T2 vehicles seem way better than T2 kbots even on fairly bumpy maps. T2 vehicles tend to have more HP, more range, and move faster than T2 kbots.

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.81
As a BA game progresses, a comm is gradually worth more to its owner dead than alive. Once T2 air is available, it's more of a liability than an asset. This is why all games should be played as comm ends. And yeah, I agree that comnapping is a not-fun feature. I'm not fond of commtransporting in ge...

What software is good for making videos of spring? I tried running fraps while playing and ended up with a framerate of 1. (My PC has pretty good specs - Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, ATI 4870 graphics card.)

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.81
1 shield can still deflect two LRPCs forever, and for 3 LRPCs it will only let in 1 in 3 shots once its been drained enough, at this point you should be wondering how you let the enemy make 3 LRPCs and why they're all firing at you :P Why were both t1/t2 AA bots made amph and added to the amph fact...

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.81
The problem with the original Keeper was that it was perfect. One shield could hold off endless berthas as long as you didn't mind e-stall, since a weak deflector still pushed the projectiles off-target enough that they'd miss their target. This one, though weak, is more balanced. Um, I'm pretty su...

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.81
Can shields please be put back to how they used to be, where as long as you had enough energy they would deflect shots? This whole charging thing is kind of retarded. It forces you to stack up several shields, which wastes a lot of space. If you've got the energy, why should your shield have to stop...

Can someone take a look at improving the Arm rocket spiders? They seem to really suck right now. They're kinda slow, short ranged, don't do much damage, and don't have much HP. At the very least, they should be pretty quick. Arm is all about quick, weak units, right?

Re: Range Widget, Alpha 2
Are you seriously trying to claim that eliminating repetitive micro is cheating? Hearing this coming from a widget author is pretty silly. If you think about it, showing enemy range rings will actually make the game easier for newbies to learn. Newbies don't have ranges memorized, while good players...

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.6
IF an AI was developed for a specific mod i don't see why AI wouldn't become much better at playing that mod. It could have tons of harcoded things and it would work much better i think. If that was true, why aren't AIs totally dominant in most RTSes instead of reliant on cheats to provide a "...

Pretty soon there will be so many LUA Widgets in this game, you won't even have to play. You'll just start the game, activate all the scripts, and watch your commander simultaneously build a base, create an army, and destroy the enemy in a beautiful and dazzling display of pure mathematical perfect...

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.6
The fact is that well-microed kbots get slaughtered by well-microed vehicles on flat ground. Whether this is a bad thing is debateable.

Re: Auto Skirm widget
What's really funny about widgets is that people worry that they remove skill from the game and let newbies play on an even footing with better players. In reality, the opposite effect happens - newbies still suck, but good players are suddenly freed from a lot of time wasted on micro and can then f...

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.6
I think Kbot vs vehicle balancing is more of a map design issue than a mod issue. On a flat map, vehicles win every time, but on a bumpy map, vehicles are useless. The only time there's really a choice between the two is on a map that has a mix of terrain, and then you just have to choose one and de...

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.6
Can you idiots shut up with this drama nonsense and talk about how to make the mod better? Whoever pointed out the differences between the Annih and Doomsday, I think there's definitely something there worth looking at. Special damages are also a good point. I'm not saying they're bad, but they defi...
