Re: Drawing Order
You should probably view the screenshots of how well it's already working and the scope of the requested change on the first page before making further comments. Well you seem to have backtracked quite a bit from the intention of your original post to something that will improve rendering under cer...

Are you trying to troll me? you are either yan or someone who is new to the internet. I don't know why you're being so condescending to everyone, but tbh, you barely played EE at all and when you did play you were just terrible. So I don't know why you're suddenly the be all end all of EE history j...

Re: Expand and Exterminate
It wont help if you rescale it. Some of the models EE uses now are hard to identify no matter what size they will be. They look a bit better than the old ones but they detract from gameplay. If he would have listened to me and not rescaled it wed still have tons of people playing it. I wasn't tryin...

Re: P.U.R.E. RC6 Release
I don't know quite how you can still bill PURE releases as "release candidates". You're up to RC6 and that's not even including the "bugfix" releases like 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 4.1 and 4.2 and not forgetting you didn't even start at RC1.

Re: Using spring for a-life/multiagent simulation?
Spring is already a multi-agent simulation. Intermingle 100 flashes, 100 brawlers, 100 slashers, randomly put half of them on opposing teams. Move the brawlers away slowly to one side, set them all to Fire At Will. Watch the fun. That scenario isn't a multi-agent sim, there's barely any autonomy an...

Re: Using spring for a-life/multiagent simulation?
It's possible, it could be hard to develop - Depends how far you want to go with it, on the plus side you have a lot done for you, but at the same time you have to get to know springs insides quite well. An Alife simulation is very trial an error getting behaviours correct, so you'd prob have to pro...

Re: Reactions about 'Official stance on how ...'
His point appears to be that if he makes a code change, he has to release it as a mutator, which means he is not distributing the mod (or would have to distribute the mod and the mutator).. correct. Also the point about art and code being in the same archive is moot - if you are willing to accept t...

Re: Reactions about 'Official stance on how ...'
Souledge: no. Art is not gpl, the gpl it's self says no this doesn't cover art. The code and art are not so intertwined, I can take pure and replace the models with my own, for the scripts to work I just need to have the same piecenames. Please don't go and make speculatory posts as facts. No the a...

Re: Reactions about 'Official stance on how ...'
If the code of a mod e.g. PURE is GPL, if I modify the code I cannot distribute the mod without distributing the artwork. The code and artwork is so intertwined that its probably why people say artwork could be under gpl. Yes mutators make this possible, but it is simply not the same. What should ha...

Re: Spore's real costs, implications therof. A rant.
I think you're very naive. There are hundreds of man years put into a game like spore. You know nothing of the processes used to create spore and you claim you could make it cheaper on the basis that it cost fifty million?

But it's already made! There aren't any major issues blocking the deployment, it's already substantially better than the current site and it's not like once it's deployed it's set in stone.pharoph wrote:cause somethings take a long time to make.
