Same problem here with a new PC i just built. And also most likely the same crash is occuring as with omicron, the game crashes during loading if shadows are turned on. In the case of crashing in-game, game just closes as though the host had quit the game, but occurs regardless of whether hosting my...

I'm also GMT +10, so of course these times arent great for me either, but its nice raising the point that spring finally seems ready to see some dedicated tournament play. There are a decent number of australian/kiwi players out there, so i'm sure there shouldnt be too much problem running an oceani...

a much funnier, easier and more effective way to reclaim a com is to stun it with spiders in XTA or those core stunner drones in AA and just stroll up to him casually and reclaim him. Its also a very good alternative to just blowing up attacking units if you have them under control with paralyzing u...

interesting... i really like that idea for the ripper swarms.. it could wind up creating an interesting economy for the tyranids.. I'd like to do some work on this, but still waiting on a new model format, 3d0 builder's just too painful to work with to express in mere words. Might play with some scr...

infantry squads yes, but not in the same way as it is implemented in say DOW... just a group of soldiers as a single unit, represented by a single model of several soldiers. Might sound tacky to you, and it is a little simplistic, but if you really want to keep to the epic40k scale, getting your inf...

I'd be happy to do a bit of modelling work, i'm pretty proficient with 3dsmax, perhaps even scripting once i get the hang of TA scripting... Mostly waiting for a new model format with UV mapping support, for i despise 3dobuilder. a lot. Seeing as the imperial guard is more or less covered, I could d...

I think you misinterpreted what i meant by that.. Most people are asking for something along the lines of a ladder/galaxy system LIKE the one in PW right now, whereas the purpose of producing this lobby software was to create a properly working lobby, not to add things like a ladder/galaxy system, w...

The colour scheme thing was a last minute addition, i can add any scheme easily on a whim, so i'll think about that smoked one. Some people dont like the green anyway heh :P. Make sure you guys PM/post any problems with the lobby you encounter, and try to give me a very detailed description of the p...

No, it does not connect to the official spring server. You must understand, the entire point in writing a new lobby is to avoid the problems that there are with the official server, so it really must be seperate... It's not really feasible to debug somebody else's half finished code. And i feel the ...

FobbahLobby 1.3
Well, i havnt been concious for most of the week, so i kinda shelved this project for a little while hehe, but never fear, i'm going to get this lobby damn well finished sometime this week. Theres a lot more in this new version than meets the eye. Greatly improved netcode in terms of speed and stabi...

ooh :) very spiffy gui, i like what you've done with the player stats, it looks very professional. And i like the look of having a fixed sidebar more than a loose detached one that ends up seeming a bit cluttered... with maybe an option to go to detached panes like the current one for those that lik...

ahh, dont tell me you guys used .net framework. My pet peeve atm. The one reason i havnt bothered doing any mods for HL2 (in the hopes of making an actually INTERESTING game out of it, hah), and it seems the reason i'm not playing with spring source right now. Sorry, but i really do despise it, more...

I like the PW client but i'm not a big fan of ladder/galaxy systems. The whole galaxy idea from boneyards is a nice idea, but unfortunately.. just doesnt really do it for me, its just a way of forceing people to play on specific maps which really isnt fun anyway.. As for ladders, well, i've yet to s...

well, going against all i just said, i finally found an irc daemon that lets me disable this flood protection, increasing data send rates, eliminating the speed problem :). To utilise the increased speed, i'm going to require now that you play on an irc server configured for use with the client (it ...

i'm a JD man myself :) It's the bomb! well, i've been working on trying to compile an irc daemon, any irc daemon, so i can fix it, but havnt got anywhere... i can compile them on my linux box but no success getting any of the windows port sources happening :( however, that may become a bit of a moot...

Dcc problems will be eliminated in next version when all game data will be sent using PMs, but, the coders of ircd (the original irc daemon software), in all their infinite wisdom, included no way to increase the maximum burstable messaging rate, and this is common among just about every irc daemon ...

genblood - did you check that you were both running the same mod? there is no built in mod-checking as of yet. That could have caused spring to have crashed. i agree that it needs more work, thats why it's a beta :P and speed issues will be solved with a permanent dedicated irc server, which we dont...
