Well, I used to check these forums regularly hoping for a working mac version, but now I check them maybe once every two weeks. I think the greatest obstacle to community growth is poor multiplatform support. I also think that Forged Alliance and Supcom have led to a decline in the Spring Community.

Cider?

I was enviously browsing the supcom forums looking at a topic requesting a Mac Port of supcom. It has a link to this http://www.transgaming.com/products/cider/ website. I read through it and though it might be used to make an Intel Mac version of Spring. It claims its easy, but is this possible? Has...

There was a really cool TA mod called "The Pack" that had a bunch of cool things like Spy vs Spy mines and Quadrogoth. It was very balanced and almost every unit had some tactical purpose. I would like to see that mod or units like those get ported to Spring

neither mspaint or gimp can open the generated bmps from v06 This troubles me in two ways.. First, it works on mine.. and second, it took this long to report this error >_<'. Anyway I uploaded a new version here: http://www.geocities.com/breathfire2001/files/tamcv07.zip It has (ram) optimized terra...

Maybe someone could make a real good ladder system? meh just an idea. How about a Galactic War like from the Boneyard days? When you join the war you are choose a side (arm/core). You are presented with a map of the universe that shows which sides own what planets and which are in contention. When ...

The OTA converter or the topic :P.. I've made a bit of progress on the converter and saving terrain BMPs takes about half the ram now.... But.. I haven't uploaded it yet.. I'm not sure there is much interest in this project

Post your funny/cool Spring Videos

I was on youtube the other day pouting about how I still can't run Spring on my Mac yet when I found this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qbtj0H3FfQ Since I still play OTA, I was familiar with the units and found it very amusing. Post any other amusing Spring videos you can dig up, preferabley on y...

Depends. I haven't tried pulling the Terrain textures from any epic class maps yet. I'll have to work on further optimizing my BMP saving code. I am sure if you tried to grab the terrain for someting like Emperor Dracula's Real Earth you would need a ton of ram...2xPixel Width*Pixel height*3 bytes I...

Regrettably in REALBasic. I am most comfortable in Basic and Java, as for C++... eek. I'm still trying to get a handle on it. Anyway, is it working >_>? I think I hammered out most of the graphical glitched my friends found.. I really want to see how certain OTA maps look under Spring
