Re: Air absorption in spring
- I really couldn't hear the difference, and i was testing with a 24 by 24 map, used the sounds of thuds and llts firing. Me neither - If I zoomed out all the way, I could hear all sounds on the map just as if I was zoomed in, even from areas that were out of view. Meaning the sounds didn't get nei...

Re: "Your mod differs from the host's one." problem
Somewhere you have an old springcontent.sdz lying around from previous installs, corrupting your checksums. Delete it and / or replace with the one from current version.

That was what we agreed about.lurker wrote:How can a file be in the name of a single person? (for the majority of Spring's files, that are highly edited) Unless you plan to make an exhaustive list of editors I suggest ignoring that advice.

Re: Energy conservation hysteria
Since conservation of energy applies, all the energy wasted in your devices can be used to heat up your room, so when its cold outside it doesn't matter how much energy your CPU uses. On a closer look, energy conversion efficiency for turbines is < 1, so it would still be better to heat using centra...

ot warning: Thanks for adding mine, but why as wav and not as ogg? it would save 400 kb, offers same quality and is natively supported by spring.

No, MT is unrelated to 64bit. And probably, if someone gets mingw64 to work.

Re: Energy conservation hysteria
Hard: 1) Re-evaluate how you clock your CPU to see if you can hit a similar clock with slightly less voltage. Even a 0.1v drop makes a huge difference when it's the biggest energy-burner in your PC much of the time. Most modern desktop CPUs have power manamgement, so when CPU usage is low, the will...

Re: Archive loading error
I know what causes this error: internal naming of map archives changed, but the saved selections in the menu aren't updated. So use select map and reselect it (you will notice that new selection doesn't has smf ending, while old had it).

Re: How to install games
be sure you have installed both springlobby and spring-engine after unzipping kernel panic, you should see folder maps/ and a folder mods/ copy both folders into ~/.spring/ then you can do 2 things: start spring, you can then select kernel panic in the modlist start springlobby, and start a singlep...

Re: Proposal: Add basic mapoptions to base content
To make a dry map wet at least you need to know how wet it should be. There is no clear way to automatically decide this value, and to make it user settable doesn't make a lot of sense, frankly. (You need testing to find what water height works properly.) I disagree, I think making it user settable...

Re: Proposal: Add basic mapoptions to base content
Yes. I don't think there should be any mapoptions forced for maps by default. All those stuff should be opt-in by the mapper. And they will be, for new maps. The point is to fulfil missing functionality in current maps with no mapoptions of their own. Yeah, they have no mapoptions of their own. So ...

Re: spring don't start
So you get the connection screen every time, but sometimes it connects and sometimes not, counting to 45 and then quits?
It isn't a sound problem then, but a network one. Check you router, firewall, etc.
