There is no easy way to disable the ipv6 loopback interface under vista. This is one of the differences between xp and vista. I did find this: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/columns/cableguy/cg1005.mspx but I haven't tried it yet. C:\Users\los>tracert fe80::1022:965:3f57:fefd Tracing rou...

Alas, I spoke too soon.. When launching the game (still on 64 bit vista), an error popup showed up saying that some hex ip could not be resolved in dns .. or something like that. Sorry, didn't get a screen shot. Just clicked 'ok' hoping that the 5v5 would still go ahead, but no such luck. The spring...

On 64 bit windows vista business, springie crashes with the following dialog http://larsole.com/files/error.jpg when I have chosen the (32 bit) spring.exe in the 'browse for spring' dialogue that comes up on the first run. Same problem occurred when I tried with the custom build that was kindly prov...

I'm surprised that nobody has raised the issue of 'intellectual property' with respect to the soundtracks. Are all our mod makers also musicians, or would they stuff their mod packages full of copyright protected content? I know what I'd find more likely! I know that this doesn't directly pertain to...

I agree that the CPU frequency numbers are insufficient. The applet approach seems a lot more useful to me than dry numbers. The benchmark could be made to simulate precisely the kind of strain spring puts on a machine and so give an accurate and useful performance grade. The benchmark could perhaps...

Yes, it is possible to choose a starting position and then erase the marker, even when the game still hasn't started. That way nobody can see where you start. Don't know why anybody would do this except for the random acts of a disruptive player.

Overview of team starting positions

This is kind of a small thing, but I think the game would benefit from starting positions being clearly marked on the minimap during start position selection, so that all players can see where all of their team m8s have chosen to start. Alternatively, the selected starting points could be rendered r...

I've been wanting to upgrade to 0.95b from unknown-files for a couple of days, but the file I get has same modification date (29/12/06) as the 0.94b I'm running already. When I do add in the downloaded files (called 0.95b in uf) the autohost still calls itself 0.94b. Please put up the auto updating ...

I've been running springie for a few days and it generally works really well. I noticed today, however, that the CPU consumption of the hosting spring process went to 99% (and stayed there) after I enabled the spring window (from the springie menu bar) and disabled it again. Is it the intention that...
