A Mac binary will be most excellent :)
nothing as yet.

a binary though? I was under the impression you'd need the source to commit his changes?

I might contact Elio and ask if he'd kindly commit the changes he made.

I would help with SpringLobby, but the disapearence of Elio has disenfranchised me a bit. I doubt Elio has dissappeared, he just comes and goes from posting in the forum. The last I heard he was having serious trouble finding reliable internet access. This being Australia, I can fully understand su...

When will you possibly have a build that can run in multiplayer with PPC to PPC connectivity? If you're referring to just the spring application, this is already possible. However, they need to be launched with a script which can get a little technical. In order to run spring on a mac like on the P...

elio, will mac users be able to play with windows/linux users as well? Elio will be able to answer more specifically for that for the long term. At the present, this build is only able to play with computers with similar CPU architecture (i.e. PowerPC macs with PowerPC macs etc.) I am fairly sure t...

I cannot speak for the average mac user, but I suspect that many are either dualbooting (like myself) or have at least one separate windows computer around.

At the moment it seems the dev responsible for getting a functioning port to mac (Elio) has been unable to continue for the time being. As just a tester for Elio I can attest for there being a functioning universal binary release of spring for mac, however, for the time being network play is limited...

while everyone else is, I'll just throw in my 2c as an experienced player/non-coder: I'd have to agree with the point on the single player, but I reckon all you need is enough single player to show players the basics of how to play the game. Being 1) free 2) bloody good and 3) multiplayer is enough ...

I hate to tell you, but I'd have to say that the error's that Erom is getting is exactly the same as I have. I've been rather busier than usual recently and hadn't had a chance to keep testing. But the problem Erom is having gave me an idea. Because I have patched my spring copy several times over, ...

Mac users with the new Macintels can install Windows and effectively turn their computer into a dualbooting mac/windows computer (as I do). However, it's a large amount of effort just to run a game and is obviously not possible on the older PowerPC architecture; with which many Mac users remain for ...

new player wiki?

I havn't spent too much time around the wiki and was wondering if there's a noob guide to getting started with Spring. I'm a fairly experienced player, but I keep running into new players who are finding spring 'all to complicated' and don't know where to start. I believe it's a significant barrier ...

I reckon it would be an excellent idea. Also, as a run-of-the-mill player, I really couldn't care about possible cheaters. most players are honorable and imho wouldn't stoop to such tactics.

I hope you don't mind that I have taken the liberty to make one , though I would appreciate that others help edit. I certainly don't mind if that's who you are referring to. I reckon it's an excellent step. I'm not entirely sure what is the official Spring logo is at the moment, however, eventually...

I'm in no position to make decisions about Spring. But There does seem to be a general consensus on what avenues should be taken (correct me if I'm wrong). By the looks of it, until spring is completely open source (bearing in mind what SwiftSpear had to say; it appears 9/10 games are XTA or AA) no ...
