Re: Todo list for next xta

Pintle try XTAR! It has slightly less retarded balance than "official" xta but possibly won't play well on sea maps. To address a tiny amount of the garbage above: "llt's fire rates being able to take down bombers" "If it can kill a tank why should a bomber be spared?" Because gameplay is more impor...

Re: All the good players?

The 1v1 community died when rAndy and Day left. The decent players have been dropping since then.

Re: nexta

Uploaded a v1.02. Mainly a bugfix release. DT got tiny HP nerf and hammer got accuracy buff. I have very little time for the other changes I have planned at the moment. This version should be stable at least. Also nice to see people commenting about changes to sea balance, hopefully some slightly mo...

Re: nexta

What XTA needs is a proper new release + announcement. There seem to always be these beta versions and spinoffs flying around but I have no idea what people are 'officially' playing. Totally agree. I have been kinda holding off while the releases get stable. I apologise for the 2 slightly (:P) bugg...

I apologise for posting in support of you, and remove the word 'effectively' in favour of 'absolutely' so that you may learn better manners, acquire a new dictionary, and actually pay attention to the post as it has a point in it that you've chosen to overlook. The facts are changing because you go...

Re: nexta

If we look at the statistics XTA is effectively dead, if Tim wants to play Necromancer that's his choice, eitherway there's no way any harm can be done. If you look in the lobby you will see games of xta played more nights than not, which shows xta isn't dead. Either way you are a fucking idiot mak...

Re: nexta

2 versions of xta is not ideal, but the alternative to me seemed to be to watch as the game became a complete joke. Surely at least one good thing can be seen from my releases in that it has spurred dnw to start fixing the more obvious balance issues..

Re: nexta

BTW, I am releasing using rapid too. I haven't managed to get a mutator+base to sync with the single archive so had to upload another full version to springfiles. Hopefully shouldn't be a problem with todays fast internet :]

XTAR v1.0 DOWNLOAD LINK [*]Dragons teeth HP [2400/2550->210] [*]Mine cloak costs increased, in order of damage done they are now [7,10,15,20] so.. dragons teeth only block ~8 missiles then die? isn't that useless? those mine cloaking costs are ridiculous. A better idea would be keep very low e cost...

Crash trying to use weapondefs_post.lua

I tried with an empty weapondefs_post.lua living in gamedata and it causes the following crash:

http://pastebin.com/xyw3XaV3

I have a unitdefs_post.lua in the same directory and that works fine :? Any ideas?

Re: nexta

Cant we go back to the golden days of unupgradable commanders? I'd even consider playing spring again.. I would like to remove them too but 2-3 players still want them. Keep in mind 2-3 players is like 25% of our current player base :) I think defaulting to normal commanders and having upgradable c...

Re: Achievements/Medals

Top 4 are good. The 5th one would be too complex to calculate.
Most important: Com kills

Also the more medals the less they mean, so maybe just 4-5 is enough.

Re: Remove optional rapid checkbox from installer

Sorry I think my use of "contribute" was too vague. I meant contribute to the gaming experience of the players. So if I made lots of useless lua or unplayed maps, I wouldn't consider myself much of a contributor. Point being I can only guess that people get away with e-raging like this because the m...

Re: Remove optional rapid checkbox from installer

Why do the devs take so much shit from someone who contributes so little? Ban the prick, this place will be better off.
