I'm also experiencing this exact bug. The game seems to crash randomly after about 20-50 minutes of play. The problem occurs most often when I'm playing a game with 4 or more people.
Air transportation is something that has been a problem with TA ever since the original release. It'd be nice if we could come up with a new solution. :)
