Re: No game speed control? (Single Player)
My reason for speeding up the early phase of the game is because it is pretty much 100% building. I prefer large maps where it takes the AI some time to start attacking. Once interaction starts I reduce the speed. My rig can cope with a full on battle at 100% but I can not cope with the required uni...

Re: No game speed control? (Single Player)
That simple?
Tested and verified.
Why on earth did that happen? No notification just a 'you should know that'.
Thanks for helping.

No game speed control? (Single Player)
When in game I used to use + or - to change the game speed. Since an update I am no longer able to do so. I have just downloaded the latest versions and reinstalled (portable) to try to fix this without luck. Using Spring Lobby and the latest XTA game. My system is Win7 (64), Intel I7 quad, 8Gb RAM,...

Re: LuaRules - HUGE number of errors - XTA or Spring issue?
@Deadnight Warrior - Thank you for that. I will definitely give it a try.
Unfortunately I manage a few domains and have been severely hacked so will be up to my neck in it for a few days undoing the damage and implementing better security.

Re: LuaRules - HUGE number of errors - XTA or Spring issue?
I tried the single thread spring.exe but soon found I could no longer run at 10x speed during the early part of the game do to CPU overload. I have just finished going through the list of LUAs and pause, F11, dissable one, F11, Un-pause, look at messages. Nothing stopped the stream of messages. I th...

Re: LuaRules - HUGE number of errors - XTA or Spring issue?
@Deadnight Warrior - Thank you for the detailed reply. You can either do: Start->Programs->Spring->Test Spring I did not know that program group existed as I have used a desktop shortcut to SpringLobby for so long that I had forgotten about it. Being picky ;-) Clicking on Spring.exe through Explorer...

Re: LuaRules - HUGE number of errors - XTA or Spring issue?
unit_morph.lua is the gadget that lets you upgrade commander to a better one. It was added in XTA 9.6 or something. I'm not sure multithread would really be so much better. The program must also be written to utilise all those cores. I rarely if ever morph my commander so I might rename the file an...

Re: LuaRules - HUGE number of errors - XTA or Spring issue?
@Deadnight Warrior - That did the trick. Thank you. Run spring.exe manually (aka test mode), select edit settings and look for "MultiThreadLUA" and set it to 2 or 1 if it still makes problems. I could not find where to do that but from SpringLobby, Edit, Preferences, Spring I was able to s...

Re: LuaRules - HUGE number of errors - XTA or Spring issue?
Cool. Did you play original TA then before? Where? In Phoenix worx? Thanks for the links. I am using the latest XTA public release but not the XTAPEv9725p1.3 version. I might give it a try later today. It is actually the Bots I am unable to locate. I have been plating TA for longer than I care to r...

Re: LuaRules - HUGE number of errors - XTA or Spring issue?
We can't remove the widgets as we must assume the user freshly installed Spring and wants to play XTA, so he/she will have no local widgets installed. If the user does install widgets locally which are already in XTA, then the duplicate error will appear and local widget takes priority over game on...

LuaRules - HUGE number of errors - XTA or Spring issue?
I am seeing a near constant stream of errors when playing Single Player. This is the full message. Error: LuaRules::RunCallIn: error = 2, Update, [string "LuaRules/Gadgets/unit_morph.lua"]:1110: bad argument #1 to 'snext' (table expected, got nil) Looking at my infolog.txt there are a few ...

YES! That fixed it. I use a LOT of air units and it was messing up my way of playing.Deadnight Warrior wrote:Have you tried XTA 9.725?

Air Repair Pads not working
Using the latest SpringLobby (0154) Single Player and selecting XTA 9.71 with RAI 0.601 bot the Air Repair Pads do not work.
Damaged aircraft go to them for repair, up to 2 at a a time, but even if at 100% they do not leave the Repair Pad.
Is there a fix for this?

Re: xxxx is being attacked sound
The file I mentioned in my last post (unit_attackMoveNotification.lua) is located inside the mod in "LuaUI/Widgets". You can extract the mod with 7Zip or another zip-program. So copy that file to your <spring>/Lua/Widgets. Then you can edit the file with a text editor. Go to the line and ...

Re: xxxx is being attacked sound
You can copy the file to your local widget directory and modify line 61 spPlaySoundFile( "sounds/" .. soundFile, udef.sounds.underattack[id].volume, nil, "ui" ) e.g. use your own file or modify the played volume by subtract a value. Thanks for that. Unfortunately practically non...

Re: xxxx is being attacked sound
What game? XTA as I am an OLD TA player from V1 and this feels like a natural progression. @very_bad_soldier - I don't want to disable it as sometimes it is handy to know when an attack is happening somewhere other than in the main view. I want to turn down the volume for that sound only as everyth...

xxxx is being attacked sound
Does anyone know the location of the sound played when the "xxxx is being attacked" message is displayed?
I ask as it is annoyingly loud and I am unable to find out how to turn it down. My intention is to either replace or edit the sound to reduce its annoyance factor.
