Capture with Fraps in Windows, and GLC or ffmpeg in Linux.
Convert it to H.264 using any of the following free converters:
HandBrake
WinFF
Avanti
Avidemux
Virtualdub
Don't use shitty formats like wmv. Avi is not a format. Use H.264.
