| Description | My laptop runs: Vista Core 2 Duo "Mobile Intel(R) 945GM/PM/GMS/940GML and Intel(R) 945GT Express Processor to DRAM Controller - 27A0" The problem is, the icons used when viewing units from a distance do not appear for most units. In XTA, only combat units show up. In BA, combat units and builders have icons. In Kernel Panic, no units have icons. What is unit icon distance set to in your settings? |

Unit icon distance is set to 100. |

I think the whole unit icon idea is useless, I have yet to notice ANY improvement in rendering performance from using it |

The issue is not just performance. Icons makes managing units much easier. Also, no icons means no icons on the mini-map either. Looking back at my screenshot, I realize that I minimized it for some stupid reason, which makes it hard to see the problem there! If you can see the icon in the 3D view on that screen, you can also see it in the mini-map. Otherwise, it doesn't appear there either. |

most likely fixed in current release of spring, if it is, as i guess, the non-power-of-2 problem to be found here: http://springrts.com/mantis/view.php?id=1315 this report will be closed in a month if no feedback comes in up till then. |
