Summary0000323: units with Dumbfire missiles more often then not will hit allied units trying to hit an enemy
DescriptionAny dumbfire weapon will hit allies and your own units, the unit does not check when firing.. which means they will destroy ally or their own buildings and/or allied units to attack a target.

Even at point blank they still fire.

That's not true unless you use specific tags in the fbi. Units won't shoot when an ally is in the line of fire but they can't predict if one is going to be in the way a frame later so if they shoot while other units are moving those other units can walk into the missile.
