| Summary | 0002199: spring loads CPU to 100% | ||||
| Description | My fps on the new engine jumps from 1 to 60. About 30 second at 60 fps, then about 60 second at 2(!) fps I've disabled threaded optimizations. I tried disabling every widget, disabling sound, reinstalling spring, setting graphics to lowest mode, killing any useless processes, updating graphic drivers, but spring is still lagging. Screenshots in .rar attached. | ||||

*8Mb/s (Is there any "edit" button?) |

can you attach the complete infolog.txt please? does this happen with other ais, too? (RAI or E323) |
infolog.txt - some replay downloaded from replays.adune.nl from start to 0003257:0009200 frame 70fps from 0003257:0009200 frame to 0003561:0010050 4-6fps after 10050 again 70fps it happens with other AIs too, without bots, when I play on lan and when I play on internet and when i watch replays :/ |
/debuginfo profiling this command, entered in chat, will print out the table you see with Alt+B to infolog.txt. do this during a game, a few times, again noting down when it lags and when not. for the future, do not use rar, but rather zip. rar is one of the worst supported formats on linux, and most devs use linux. if you need higher compression ratio, use 7zip/lzma, but zip should be enough for anything below 20MB. |

Likely a graphics driver glitch. Try different drivers. Also try disabling luaui with /luaui disable |
I tested drivers in versions: 258.96; 260.89; 260.99 (downloaded from nvidia.com) /luaui disable - still low fps :/ |
maybe try older drivers too |
195.62 as before... |
Please try NoSound=1 in your spring settings ~/.springrc or %APPDATA%\springsettings.cfg file. |
no effect :/ "I tried disabling every widget, disabling sound, reinstalling spring, setting graphics to lowest mode, killing any useless processes, updating graphic drivers, but spring is still lagging." |
And spring-multithreaded.exe makes no difference, I assume? Do other games work fine on your system? Did you check GPU/CPU temperatures? If you point the camera away from the battlefield, so almost nothing gets rendered, still 2FPS? |
"Do other games work fine on your system? Did you check GPU/CPU temperatures?" I use Blender and it works fine, so I thought it's spring fault. I tested TestDrive:Unlimited, it works good, alas from time to time (but seldom) is lagging as spring. It's GPU fault :/ GPU tempereture reaches 110??C, GPU Load jumps from ~ 10% when 70 fps and 49% when lagging Sorry guys for wasting your time, it's not spring fault |
np, anyhow thanks for the report, this helps us too, to make spring better :) |
