| Description | Why is taking screenshots so expensive in system resources? it does freeze the game for some seconds, then takes the screenshot, and everything fast forwards some seconds to catch up. this is not for the first screenshot only as it used to be, but for every single screenshot. | ||||

bang! so you say may be like this time http://springrts.com/mantis/view.php?id=210 but no, this time only 51 files there. ive asked and in higher specs systems it doesnt happen, but this computer is faster than what i used to have, yet some versions to now taking screenshots is slow. |

Depends on algorithm, not on number of files. Almost no freeze with jpg, but 1-2 seconds with png. Why not writing the screenshot in a separate thread, so that the game is less influenced? |

How to take jpeg screenshots again? i have: bind Any+f12 screenshot that takes png ones. thaks |
