| Description | Was supposed to be a comment for 0005626 but closed. The user argues his OS correctly recognizes and uses POLARIS10 drivers, not VMware and has provided strace (3.2 MB, can't attach in mantis - see https://github.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/issues/2363 ). | ||||||||

I am the user. For completeness, reproduced the results in a non-vmware virtual machine and attached the drm from that as well. The infolog could not be found, otherwise the results were similar. Both times were on Debian 9. |

The user argues incorrectly and should stop blaming his problems on Spring. "POLARIS" is the code name ATI/AMD has given the *CHIPSET* baked into the silicon of their GCN Radeon 400 series GPU's, and has *NO RELATION AT ALL* with the GL drivers installed on his system that tell this chipset what to do. *THOSE* need fixing because this user has decided (for some reason) to use *VMWARE'S* distribution of the *MESA* GL driver stack when he *SHOULD* be using https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AMDGPU-Driver instead; *NOTE* the "supported hardware" table. https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-install-amdgpu-drivers-on-debian-9-stretch-linux is also worth reading. Further reports will not be handled until I see evidence that the above information was *CORRECTLY* understood and acted upon. |
