i can not reproduce it here (linux), and the infolog contains no stack trace (i guess that is a crash handling or logging failure) :/
though.. log should be flushed during crash handling since 85.0.

anyway.. can't help without a stack trace. maybe check if console output has more to offer (spring.exe 2> myLogFile.txt, i think).

spring.exe > c:\bla.txt
-> http://pastebin.com/fPJJKhWH
looks the same

I noticed renaming/deleting springlobby.exe or springsettings.exe makes it not crash when clicking the button.
(but then of course the button does nothing else either)

@knorke:

does it crash, too if you are in windowed mode?

and, does anybody use the feature to start springsettings/springlobby? imo it can/should be removed...

crashes in windowed mode too.
tried replacing springlobby.exe with some other renamed .exe file and that crashes too.
---
imo those buttons and "lobby connect (wip) should be removed.
or at least it should be made a lot more clearer that spring.exe is not for playing but just for testing? (atm it is misleading with the nice background image)

fixed by removal: https://github.com/spring/spring/commit/5070e2f2c51edc14461660054e123c33a48bc6e2

reason:

imo they where just confusing and they are never used. i personaly used them once i think and i think others didn't use these two buttons, too.

this could be maybe done this way: only show this menu, when "--test" as parameter is given / and enable this parameter always for debug builds.
