Summary | 0001988: Placing marker with text typing issue
Description | When placing a marker with text ('`' + Double-Left-Click): The '`' stays active for the first character you type for the marker text. Resulting in an unwanted character or no character at the beginning of your text. For example: Pressing '`' + Double-Click and then entering an 'a' for the text will give you an '?รณ'. I think this issue is ancient.

Does only happen with a german keyboard configuration. Does not happen when changing keyboard to english. |

Perhaps the best solution is to change the default key for placing markers. |

Can this be done please? Current drawinmap key can be considered broken for german keyboards (and probably others too). I swapped the key for drawinmap with toggleoverview (TAB) for me which works nicely but should be default. |

Impossible, it is an OS thing. Changing the default key seems not to be a solution to me. |

When it is impossible to really fix it we should at least try to workaround it as good as possible, no?. By changing the default key we prevent nearly every user from ever having to deal with that issue. Seems a better "solution" (or workaround or whatever) to me than just doing nothing while knowing that this issue exists for a big part of the userbase. |
