    add Spring.{Unit,Feature}Rendering.{Set,Clear}{Forward,Deferred}MaterialUniform
    can be used to bypass the Draw{Unit,Feature} callins which are considered harmful
    NB: all objects get 16 uniforms, each containing (up to) 32 int or float elements
